I did not make a reservation for today - what in the world was I thinking???????

My guess is that you were sick and not paying attention.  Are you going to be able to get a flight tonight?

How is your weekend Jen?

It's been ok.  Lots of work. 

Has your boss come in to work?  How long has it been since you've seen him? 

I havent seen him since last tuesday... Im catching up with the boss shortly to look at all the work that needs to be covered off... so hopefully all will be ok...

Ugh - just caught up with the big boss (not my manager). Sounds like Im on my own this week.. not going to be pretty... especially anything thats required in terms of project managing projects I have NOT worked on up until this point...

Sigh... Not sure this week is going to be a lot of fun...

Crazy!  I only saw my boss like twice last week.  It's strange. 

haha no I can kind of relate... the issue isnt so much seeing him since I basically do my own thing...

Its covering some major props and proposals which I have not worked on up til this point and I have not got any of the info or background on!

That sucks.  I'm sorry it's going to be a stressful week for you.   

Thanks - as long as he is back next week I think I will be ok - but the issue is pretty serious so... who knows!

I can take over a project for a few days without messing it up! But long term... not so good! (I dont know the stakeholders or anything)  

He is much better away than here popping in and out causing chaos becase he is in pain so I think the boss is doing the right thing by benching him until he is fixed...

And its kind of nice she has so much faith in me to know it will all be ok with me running the show... so thats always good to know! The fact she feels she can hand it on to me but I just know its going to be at least a 50-60 hour week... bleh! And I will take stuff home...

UGH - here's the scoop

In the midst of making plane reservations from now until April, somehow I missed making a reservation to get back to Philly today - 

So here I was sitting in Omaha at 4 pm waiting for my Orbitz alert to go off, and nothing, hmmmm, wait a little longer, nothing......hmmmmm, I better go check - Well of course there's nothing I don't have a reservation - OMG!  How did I do that.  I know how - it's the trip to Denver that's thrown in there that threw me off.

I tried everything I could think of and nothing will work - I could try and go standby (well not anymore) but I don't think my body needs the stress right now of spending the night at airports.

Soooo, I'm going in tomorrow morning.

I feel terrible - under normal circumstances, not that big of a deal really, but tomorrow is a really big day - I've been planning it since day 1 of my new job.  I feel like such a f*ckup.

My boss was not happy of course, but in true fashion put it in perspective.  'at this point it is what it is' - use the night to get another good rest - this of course after asking if I was feeling better -

UGH

On the positive side, it gave me more time with they boys, I was so out of it yesterday I really didn't even talk to them, I just slept all day. - they are all out playing bb right now, inclding K and C - it's fun to watch.

They are good guys - really loved the enchiladas last night and especially loved the steaks tonight - I think they've had a great time.

With all the travel bookings youve had to make dont stress too much, obviously its bad timing but ot quote your boss 'it is what it is' and Im sure you will make the best of it!

Im sure you kids are LOVING having you at home!

thats the spin Im trying to put on it mentally right now... but all I can think is 'Im not paid enough for this....'

Worst case scenario... something gets dropped.. which would be bad but not end of the world bad I hope...

I know the feeling about having your boss cause chaos.  That happens fairly regularly depending on if he's in a good mood or not. 

ummm yes my manager is a bit like that... and if you are in constant pain its pretty obvious that you are not going to be doing anything well!

again i am reminded of how nice my new boss is

Oh, but my previous boss - well, let's just say he had the swoop and poop approach to management

Umm yeah Ive been there....

I shouldnt complain my manager is generally great but when he is really busy or nder pressure or more recently in pain things tend to get chaotic and frustrating... but thats to be expected I guess!
