kns57 - 2007-11-19 11:49 AM Writing posts on BT is way better than writing the two evaluations that I have to get done. Shiver me timbers, when will the world do away with evaluations and reviews. You get the same percentage here no matter how you are rated. Aaaaarrrrgggghhh!

my company already has done away with evaluations - for me at least, haven't had one in well over a year, the one b4 that was 5 years ago

Can I come and work for your company? Do they need any librarians?

LOL - sorry, we don't have any current openings for librarians

although I still am expected to do reviews for my direct reports - doesn't seem quite right does it?

Ah, so I really wouldn't get away from having to write evaluations. Guess I will stay here since you don't need a librarian. LOL

LOL -

so, Kendra

when do we get to hear our story?

I need to find the time to work on it. I don't think having just the first line will do.

Well I guess I could find the time if I didn't log onto BT. Just finished weekly mgt team mtg. Now back to those evals.

Seeing is optional (helpful though)-- feeling is required.  Tell 'em to use a small needle and a BP cuff to pump the veins up.  Works a whole lot better than a tourniquet every time!

Wow. At the rate we're all posting, this oughtta push to Nibs IV fairly quickly.

Spokes, you still in the house? I'll rub ya feet for fiddy.

LOL

I was just thinking the same thing - we'll be on Nibs IV by Thanksgiving - or before

Whens Thanksgiving?

it's this coming Thursday for us, which is Friday for you? am I getting it yet?

haha yeah basically So I can expect BT to be REALLY quiet this week then...

There's GOT to be some Australian holiday happening on November 22nd. Maybe there's a holiday from some other country you can celebrate...

All the 'Aussie' Holidays are the other side of chrissie.... well Nov 22 is basically gonna be 'recover from last nights party' day and then it will be Friday!

Yanti!

Are you going nuts in the taper?  That's the scary part of big races cause I'm so addicted to the exercise thing I'll go nuts if I slack off even a bit for the bigger races but I know I have to.

Judi!  how was your day?

aside from the micro managing PA who ordered a FULL cardiac workup on a man with a COUGH and blood draws on a 4 yr old (who didn't need it), then getting crazy stuff when I was in the penalty box (triage) it was fine.

ummmm, time for a change???

Oh yeah, the more I think about it, the more I realize how burned out I am after 13 yrs in the ER (10 were part time) I NEED to get out of there but a desk job would also have it's challenges cause I just don't sit still for long

is there somewhere in between?

floor nrses need permission to wipe their frickin noses.  An ER nurse has autonomy to say this pt needs xyz and I'm gonna do it then ask (or ask if I must for what ever doesn't fall in the realm of protocol orders) Teaching just clinical days requires a BSN, classroom an MSN, I have an Assoc. Degree only.  Since DH is working on his MSN and the girls wil soon be in highschool I don't forsee returning to college in my future. Plus, it would eat into my training and BT time

You know, the University of Utah offers an RN to BSN program that is done strictly online. It's designed for the working nurse. You should look into it. And I'm sure there are others, like I think U of Wyoming does a similar thing.

Dee must have found a way to focus, clearly, Beth has not -

Basically, I am sitting here, staring at the computer monitor. In the meantime, my oatmeal brain is becoming soggier and soggier.... Can. Not. Focus........... The lights are on. (Sort of.) But clearly, I am not home. LOL

If there's anything that I can do to help you focus, let me know...(as I sit here on the comfy couch, away from the stresses of work, eating a piece of string cheese [notice I'm not snacking on Little Debbie snack cakes...I have the beginnings of a cavity...bummer...and I'm staying away from sugar...at least today...]

Too late. I envy your square heads. No corporate zombie here - I like to think of my self as a liberated bohemian academic type. Do they make dolls for that? Kristen

Why yes Kristen...they do...

Do they have gov't models?  Hmmm.. wonder if they'd have square heads or not....  Maybe the feet would be connected to the heads to resemble the constant going in circles.

Okay, got my league fixed, now what about lunch.

maybe I need a feeding tube, so I don't have to leave my computer.

Would this qualify as a government model?  Not exactly a square head...maybe a block head...(ooh, hope there's not any Hillary supporters in the group...
