A Jin Shin Jyutsu expert - that sounds interesting, I've never heard of that

It was interesting. I had no idea what I was getting into. A friend recommended this guy and I actually thought I was seeing an Osteopath... I guess there was little bit of a misunderstanding between me and my friend... But everything turned out good. It really was impressive (and don't call me crazy now)... He was just looking in me face and feeling my wrists and then said that I have an issue in the lower back and in the right shoulder.... And those where exactly the spots why I went there in the first place. He never asked a question, I never said anything more than hello.... and then he was aligning me....  And one of his helpers did some energy work, and I think that is what was wiping me out...  I know, it sounds crazy....

TOPPAGE! YEAH!

Well, I got in what I could considering the skies wanted to start spitting at me.

3.15 miles put in.  Not great, but it's still "money in the bank".

Ok I am off to run some even though I think I have finished my goal already.  At this point I think I will just raise my goal on the last day to whatever I have at that time.  I am looking at 3.4 or so.  Good times.

I was just reading an interesting tidbit on the science of taste and it actually answered the question of why chocolate and salt "go together".

It turns out that we experience the four classic senses - sweet, sour, salty, bitter - relative to each other.  In other words, if the food we eat has 6 molecules of sour for every molecule of sweet, we'll experience the food as six times more sour than sweet.  So adding a dash of salt to chocolate actually enhances the sweetness of the chocolate because we experience the sweetness of the chocolate relative to the small amount of saltiness.

So, Cat, next time you bake chocolate chip cookies, add a dash of salt into the dough.  It should enhance the sweetness of the cookie.

that's really interesting -

the funny thing is, I'm really not much for sweets I really like salt - but if I'm going to have something sweet, I like it if it has a salty flavor mixed in

  • salted nut roll
  • reeses
  • candy corn and salted peanuts mixed together
  • peanut butter m&m's
  • heath bars
  • m&m's or bunch a crunch mixed into my popcorn

mmmmmmm
