Bill, I am glad you got a diagnosis. Nerve damage sucks. But it is amazing how your body can compensate. I have proof. Icky doctor visits! Hope it's nothing too serious--just a checkup maybe? we don't need any more gouhlies sick!! Robin-I might need some of those miles too, so don't sell them ALL to Bill! My shin splints have been acting up and I am waaaay behind in my half mary training plan. I don't think I'm going to make it through 6+ more miles in the next few days. Not without another flare anyway. Plus I was sick yesterday and didn't do any workout at all. I don't have an opinion on the doc. I sent one a bill one time for my time because I waited for 2 hours but haven't not paid for a diagnosis, even if rushed. However, It ain't right to be a slacker especially if you are a professional. I have 2 1/2 M for the month.. I'll send you some miles. They aren't free, though. Later folks. off to the Dr for me, too.  (Is that a sad enough story to warant some free miles? Pretty please with sugar on top??)Watch out Ann(e) requires expensive rum to be bribed  Well Honey, I could very easily be bribed with something that is most certainly free.  A neck rub?  Is that what you 19 year old kids are calling it now a days? Would that qualify me for my cougar card? Meeeeeoooooooowwwwwwwwww! I will let you call it whatever you want! Honey I don't think cougar's actually meow. I am not a fan of small cats, big cats, sure, cougars, snow leopards, tigers. |

I have a HSA medical plan and know I will be getting a bill from him for the balance and I am thinking of sending him the bill back with a letter explaining that I don't feel obligated to pay for his services because his diagnosis was rushed and not even close to what the problem was. Basically explain to him that in these economic times that he wasted my time and I have since had to pay $100 in co-pays to get a proper diagnosis he was capable of obtaining. Anyone ever done anything like that to a doctor? It is customer service after all and if he had bad service or a bad product would he not expect better. What say yee Ghoulies? Free consult from the ortho surgeon in the office next to me. He recommended that you write a polite and professional letter to doc #1 explaining that you believe that you should not bear any financial liability for the missed diagnosis. Don't call him a *bad* doc. Docs will pass on billing for mistakes (and every doc makes them.) If he still sends the bill, don't pay. It will go from his office to collections. When collections contacts you, explain your position. If collections claims you still have to pay (sometimes they will waive, depending on the circumstance), then decide if you want to fight it or cave and pay. And fyi, he's a doc and he's done it. |
