ransick - 2010-06-01 7:30 AM Good morning.  June means my yearly guys fishing trip to northern Wisconsin.  Other than that, swb.

What are you fishing for?

large mouth bass.  We end up catching a few muskies in the the process.

How long do you go for? Sounds fun!

We seem to extend the trip by a half a day every day.  We started out several years ago with a 3 and a half day weekend. We are up to 6 days now.  Gives me time to catch up with a buddy from college and get away from the computer and email for a bit.  We start counting the months until the next trip about a month after the last trip.

Good morning everyone!

I won't be around much today. My son's class has a big picnic/party today for the last day of school. It's a sendoff from the elementary, since he'll be in middle school next year. I'll be at the picnic all day.

Sorry, cranky boss + review time + 24 month planning = no BT joy for me.

Thankfully, she's at a checkup for her youngest child this morning so I am getting caught up.  My knee is still flaky but seems to be a bit better and I've finally recovered from my race on Sunday.  Now, it's back to the grind and getting ready for the next one.  My tri class was threatened with some lactate threshold runs tonight, whatever that means.  From the groans of the more experienced people, it sounds like it won't be terribly fun.

Here's hoping everyone has a great day!

Oh - and I can't find it but someone mentioned that breathing through your nose helps regulate your heartrate vs mouth breathing.  This came to me during one of my class runs and trying to do it really seemed to help keep my heartrate down compared to the past.  My thanks to you for that tidbit, whoever you are!

Thanks for asking Marla. I have not received the wetsuit yet. I am getting nervous about it. I start the on call so I will have limited time to try it.

You ordered it over a week ago, right? Mine - all 4 of them Smile came faster than that. Maybe could call? Remember they're ok with 1 or 2 pool tryouts, too.

I ordered almost 2 weeks ago I believe. I confirmation it will be here the 8th.  Now it on its way and I have to cancel doing my triathlon due to changes at work. We have lost people (3)and soon the 4th. Now that mean we cycle thru the rotation of on call that much faster.  Supposed to change by end of July so there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

So you're not going to be able to compete at all? That's really lousy....though at least there's an end in sight, and I guess it's better than being one of the folks out of a job....

(seems like an awfully long time to get your wetsuit, too).

Hello all! Sorry I have been absentee. I fly to Fla each June to pick up my mom and drive her up here. She stays in a cottage next to us for the summer/fall  (read: until it gets cold) then I drive her back and fly home. I just got back yesterday evening. It is a long trip driving with miz Gloria and her cat. It is very nice to have her here for the summer, though.
Hope everyone is doing well.

Wes, I am sorry about you having to cancel but does the job losses mean that your job is safe? If so, that is at least one of your stressors gone.

What's on tap for today?

I am hoping to get a short run in. This would be my first run in over a month, since I injured my hamstring. We'll see how that goes.

Quiet here lately!

I am running again today- hopefully. It is supposed to get up in the 90s after tomorrow. That is better for biking and swimming.

We are only in the 70's today. low 60's and rain tomorrow. I think I'll be heading to the Y and going for a swim tomorrow after work.
