So which is it "logella"

Are you a well thought out gentleman:
"Now, if you'd like to talk seriously about this, according to the map and my view out my office window, the run course goes "behind" the Marriott and no where near the front drive"

Or, are you a Drama Queen:
"Everyone needs to stop your crying and enjoy the race and the area"

"all of these horny teenagers will be looking to ruin your special night"

I'm just the guy that called out the original drama queen.

jcagg90

It's not so much the location of the race, but the idiocy of Woodlands High School for not checking to see if there were something going on that weekend. Or it could be the town not telling them to schedule the prom for another weekend. Or it could be that the town told them to reschedule but the parents threw a little hissy fit and the town backed down. Or..... basically somebody dropped the ball here.

Regardless whose fault, this could potentially turn into a disaster. This race is a big enough event to require the attention from whole town (police, fire, etc.), now we're going to have a bunch of drunk, horny teenagers starring in their own movies showing little to no regard for our safety.

My attempts at turning this back into a thread about the race has seemed futile.

On May 21st there will be an Ironman and there will be a prom.  It may be an inconvenience and it may not be.  It may be windy and it may not be.  It may rain and it may not.

There is too much going on in the next 9 weeks that I need to/have to worry about that the things I have no control over have to take a back seat.

Now can we return to our regularly scheduled IMTX thread PLEASE and THANK YOU!

Unbelievable.  So you're calling me a drama queen when I point out the obvious fact that, by adding hundreds more (a large part potentially drunk and irresponisible) people to the thousands that are already there, problems might just arise that could affect the safety of people on the race course?  So the front of the Marriott might not be facing the race course.  Have you considered that the kids coming and going to their prom might take some of the same roads we'll be running on or crossing?  Are you really that short-sighted, even perched from your lofty office overlooking the race course?

When your on the run the only thing your going to be thinking about is the next mile or next aid station. I don't care if WW3 is breaking out at the Marriott, you should hold on to one thing on the run to focus on. Nothing else matters.

Anyone know of a list of Men's AG 40-44 contenders, Top 15-20?

NOW WE HAVE RESORTED TO PORNOGRAPHY ON THE THREAD! I am appalled, offended, disgusted, and totally turned-on all at the same time. BTW, I would have preferred to see her in the "Sam McGlone lower back tattoo pose". That would have been less offending.

Short of doing a data dump from the participant list I haven't seen one yet. Even then it would quite a task to try and figure out who the top 15-20 are.

I do know that Jon Walk is doing a age group by age group run down each month in Runner Triathlete News (can't remember their new name right now). I don't think he's done the M40-44 age group yet but hopefully soon. I'm confident though that I won't hit his radar screen.

Anyone planning to wear a speed suit on race day?  I was planning to buy the new Xterra WTC legal speed suit that went on sale last week and my size is already sold out/back-ordered.  I saw some of the blue seventy speed suits sold out elsewhere on the internet.  The Tyr torque speed suits look to be pretty well-stocked since they've been out the longest.  Anyone know how these WTC-legal speed suits compare to just wearing an elite level tri-suit?

Anyone else get "bumped" from the BT Love Inn (aka Marriott Residence Inn- The Woodlands/Market Street)? If so, PM me so I can make sure you at least get one free night. I've had a lengthy pen pal discussion with their manager.

I just bought a TYR Torque - should be in on Thursday.  I'm a strong swimmer, my goal in buying the Torque isn't to specifically buy speed.  I'm really looking to minimize drag to eliminate any unnecesary fatigue.  For me, I hate hate hate swimming in my tri suit (I'm from a swimming background, the drag drives me bananas) but I don't want to wear my speedo then have to wrestle into clothes during T1.  This way, I can wear my cycling gear and not worry about drag.

I have heard from several guys that they plan on just wearing tri shorts and going shirtless.  That would probably work ok and its a lot cheaper.

If you're interested, I got my Torque here for what I considered a good price (cheaper than the Xterra).  thetrishop.com, with a 15% coupon code fftri15.  They also let you order 2 (for sizing) and will include a free return label, so you don't have to hassle with ordering multiple sizes.

Heh.  Real junior high of you, dude.  When your home team is questioned, resort to name-calling.  Hilarious.

Umm, I am drunk and hungry on vacation with my wife. Can we leave the kids out of it? There will be drunk kids on the 21st and future ironman wanting to be drunk. I do not make sence right now. I should be riding my bike. Or swimming. Or not responding, but leave it alone.
