deehtz - 2010-09-21 10:08 PM This was my first OWS tri.  The swim went pretty well.  The water was very pleasant temperature. a little faster than I had estimated so I was pleased with that!

The bike had 2% & 3% grade hills that I was not expecting!  Had to walk the bike near the top of a few.  Crud. But the downhill was straight so I could let it fly! (well at least fly for me, I think my max was 33 mph).  The bike was a little slower than I wanted but I was not prepared at all for those hills.

The run (jog) was not what I had wanted.  The bike hills had beat me up, so my jog pace was about 30 seconds/mile slower than I had planned.  Oh well.

My total time wound up being about what I had estimated overall.  What is funny is that I won a medal.  1st in my AG --  of course I was the only female over 50, so I was the only one in my AG --  LOL    lots of fun anyway and very nice people!

YEA for medals. I am sorry I didn't cheer you on (from afar). I have been so wrapped up in my own stuff. Big Giant Ghoulie High Five to you! Can you post a pic of the medal?

mndymond - 2010-09-21 11:12 PM Hey ghouls! One last check in before I go to bed. (Well I'm in bed...so sleep.) Got home from practice...only 3050 today...but there was a good amount of sprint work. BNB. Haha. My shoulders and lats are a tad angry right now. Got home...scarfed down dinner and now I am in bed...need to recover for tomorrow!

Slacker! (kidding)
Didn't you swim in the am and run as well and go to classes. Hmmmm. send me some of that energy.

Hi Bill.

Send that rain here. We are losing trees and bushes here. I lost some azaleas that Jim's grandmother planted. They are a variety you can't get these days.

Dang.

Need a Ghoulie rain dance again!

I can send you some of ours too.  I think it's rained every day since the middle of last week.  Normally I would be upset but there's not a lot of training going on here

Hi Kim!

Hi IronNeal. How are you feeling?

Lazy.  I've done absolutely nothing since the race

A well-deserved nothing. You put it all out there.  Are you going to frame your finisher's medal? When you get around to taking it off, I mean.

What?  I'm supposed to take it off at some point?

Maybe I can get it made into a belt buckle so I don't feel as weird wearing it around wherever I go

wgraves7582 - 2010-09-22 8:02 AM Morning Nekkid - Any new job opps??

Morning Robin - Rain Dance completed

Morning Neal - Nah just take the medal off during swim workouts - it might create more drag

I keep sending out resumes, but haven't heard anything yet. I am waiting for a contract to be awarded sometime in the near future. A company bid my resume for one of the jobs, if they get it I'll get out of here and get to work a little closer to home. I have my fingers crossed for that one right now.

I think my rain dance would be more effective if I did it from home and then took a nap immediately afterward. I should go test that theory.

Let me help you with this

Guy in class: Melindy you need to eat so you don't waste away.

Melindy to guy: Why don't you take me out to dinner so you can make sure I'm properly satisfied.

See how that works?

That line would also work on Neal, too.

The online copy of the MCM program guide is available online. I found the elevation chart. When I heard hills for the first few miles I thought up and downs, this is just all up.
