Yay.  Back to training hardcore today.  I feel sooooo off when I don't workout upon waking.  Ate like a fat kid all weekend and I feel really fat/bloated.  Blah.  Picked up some Ultegra pedals (current roadie has mtb pedals), bike shoes, aero bottle, new helmet, and misc other things for my birthday.  Two big ticket wants are still on the list being an IM entry and tt bike.

May's Totals aren't horrible:

May's totals:
Bike:20h 48m 19s  - 298.22 Mi
Run:10h 40m 07s  - 80.02 Mi
Swim:5h 16m 20s  - 17225 M

Ha, ha, not only did I get my butt whopped by my 10 year nephew Howie in the 5k, but I got whooped by 2 4 year olds that ran the race as well!!!!

It was very hot yesterday . . . Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend.

Also, did the Solider Field 10 miler on Saturday. Great race along the lakefront, and great race and goodies for the money (t-shirt, medal, stadium blanket and free chicago parking).

I walked about 2-2.5 miles of the race since my fitness has taken a hit over the last month, but I finished and it was cool to run on the Bears field!!!

They had a bike to the ballpark deal last week for the Astros where if you rode your bike to the park you got free admission.  Was going to take the girls in the bike trailer but thought CPS could deem watching an Astros game child abuse.

OWS is the best.  Just let someone kick you in the face and it'll get the juices flowing.

Jeff - Are you feeling good about the Rev3 race?  Any time goals for this one?

It was 90 here yesterday.  It's looking like it's going to be the same today.  My husband has to install these window ac units soon.  My fingers and toes look like sausages.  Anyway, I ate like crap all weekend (ribs on the grill last night), so I need to redeem myself this week.

Easy 4 mile run this a.m. and then recovery swim tonight.  The outside pool opened at the gym, so I'll get to do my swim workout outside!  Yay!!

I am soooo happy we have central AC now, i remember the window unit installs such a PITA!  Outside pools rule, ours opened saturday!

How am I feeling about Rev3: intimidated.  its my first tri of the year and first HIM, the bike and run courses are tough (lots of hills) and my back really cramps up after long rides and I have never run further than a 10K off the bike.  So I am definitely starting to freak out.  Since the spring was so crappy, I've only done 4 long outside rides and not yet done an OWS in wetsuit (hoping for wednesday morning and/or friday).  I wish the race was a month from now so I could feel better prepared.  I am undertrained, no doubt.

As for time goals I think 6:30 is a realistic time goal, 5:59 would make a very happy camper.  Candidly, I am really going to try and enjoy the experience.  Rev3 is supposed to put on a great race, the course is a nice one and, regardless, I will be out there for a long time so I might as well enjoy myself.  That said, I am going to push myself to the limit and see what happens.  Hopefully, it will be the good kind of sufferfest, I hope I dont break.  My one concern is my back and how it holds up later in the run.

Swim is weak but was trying to spend more time on the bike.  Averages 9.1 hours/week training which is abotu the best I can do.  I too am off today from training.

Those numbers are more than respectable.  I'm crazy and shouldn't be used as a metric.

May's totals:
Bike:8h 15m 28s  - 100.25 Mi
Run:2h 54m 15s  - 16.3 Mi
Swim:3h 10m 35s  - 7650 Yd

So here are mine. Struggled with a lot of missing days. Again a really sucky weekend weather wise. Too much wind. At least we didn't get the snow but Salt Lake did. very cool. Ran two miles today and was sure I was doing a 20 min ile pace, but much to my happiness it was a lot closer to 10 minute one. I just have to get out and get going

Spent a very frustrating day trying to get several articles in for tomorrows deadline. My word processer quit working properly. Three uninstalls and reinstalls, two full computer scans and several trys at the trouble shootingpage while my internet also kept going down turned an hour and a half job into a five hour ordeal. but success. I did go out and run while my computer was scanning. Tomorrow hitting the bike.

Nice job!  Stadium blanket is way cool schwag.

My husband and I did the Indianapolis half marathon years ago and we got to run around the Indy race track.  My husband was in awe, he's a huge Indy 500 fan, and it was the only way I could talk him into running a half.  It was pretty cool though, I have to admit.
