Mila, ABrady42, jrcody - great job! You guys rock!

It's the last week of the challenge! We need to step it up and win this thing! Go team Lampre!

LOL... yes, I think so, apparently the pink whip on the previous page wasn't threatening enough!

Great job for you, too!

Hey team!!  Sorry I've been MIA.  Going through a tough time in my life right now, but no worries I'm still biking

7 out of 12 stages done and I'm at 294 out of 360 minutes.  I'll have no problem getting the stages and minutes in to meet my goal!

Team, just heads up, when entering your progress for week 2 and 3 make sure that you enter cumulative number of stages and minutes/miles you have completed. I noticed that some results in week 2 look like they are not cumulative, which, of course, brings our team total down, while in reality the progress is much better.

Good catch - as if I needed any further evidence of my special brand of spasticity!

Team: I planned to be further along than I am, but due to unforeseen circumstances (i.e., family stuff) I'm playing catch-up. I got up half an hour early this morning to get two rides in today - I WILL make my goal.

I'm in the same boat Cindy.  Just got back from chaperoning my daughter's youth camp, so that took me out of training for a few days, plus taking on new job responsibilities at work...

Got a ride in tonight, 13 miles (42 min), only stage 3 (212 total minutes)...I'll be getting a ride in EVERY day to meet my goal.

Hey guys.. I have a quick question about the stages & times.

I'm at 8 out of 12 stages but only have 36 minutes left to ride to complete my time goal.  How does this challenge work?  Do I just have to complete the 36 minutes, all of the stages, or both?  Doing four 9 minute sessions would be pretty funny though

Hey Traci, the way Cat has the spreadsheet set up, the final percentage is an average of the percentage of your stages completed and minutes/miles completed.  So in your case, it seems like you'd have a few options:

Do 1 more stage for a total of 2 hours and 6 minutes
Do 2 more stages at 48 minutes each
Do 3 more stages at 22 minutes each

All these options should get you to 100%.  I'll have to check the official rules, but that's how the spreadsheet's set up...

Yep.  That's the way it works:

Challenge Rules:

The winning team will be determined by the overall % of goal amount of stages and % of distance/time achieved by the team. (each goal counts for 50% of your overall goal achieved)

In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by the amount of team members who reached their own individual goal. If more than one team has all riders reaching 100% then the top step of the podium will be shared.

All types of riding can be included as a stage based on YOUR activities and training plan or even racing so if it’s a bike and you use your legs/pedals to power then it can be counted towards your committed stages. Riders must complete a minimum of 15 minutes ride time per session for the stage to be counted against their committed stages.

Individuals who achieve more than their committed stages/distance will not have these additional rides counted towards their team total but please add them to the reporting so we can acknowledge your hard work!

On bike commutes... if your commute (one way) is less than 15 minutes... then you can combine the two commutes as one stage for the purposes of this tour. If you wish for each of your bike commutes to count as two stages (and they are longer than 15 minutes) then you should log them as two separate rides in your training log.

You can ride more than once on one day if you wish to.. just make sure that they are logged as separate rides in your log.

Stages must be logged in the riders BT logs for verification

If you have a temporary set back such as an illness (i.e a cold) then I will be using the following equation to calculate your goal reduction (if required). Total Goal/23 days (of the challenge) * number of days out of action = goal reduction for the challenge.

Play around with the numbers a bit to see what works best for you to complete 100%...

All stages done. Have 12 miles left for my goal, riding tomorrow, so no problem to meet the goal.

What's going on with the rest of the crew? Looks like a couple of our peeps went MIA. Tomorrow is the last day! Do what you can!

jrcody, you're on fire - blew right past the goal and keep going. Looking great!

Finito con la sfida di Giro di Francia!

Not a lot, but enough to keep me prepped for my upcoming Olympic tri.

7 stages, 350 minutes (110 miles)...averaged 18.4 mph...

Great challenge!  Kept me honest.  I wasn't particularly chatty for this one.  New responsibilities at work and chaperoned for my kids' youth trips/camps this month.

La buona fortuna tutti! Finiamo questo!

The TdF Challenge will be over soon. So how are you going to stay motivated NEXT month? Interested in another challenge?

There is a "Casual Challenge" planned for August. You can set goals for RUNNING and/or SWIMMING and/or BIKING and/or OTHER (strength, yoga, etc) and/or WEIGHT LOSS. (You may sign up for ANY or ALL of these goals.)

There will be no teams (unless we get a lot of people signing up, then I'll split the group). It's just a friendly challenge to help people achieve their workout and weightloss goals.

Click below to read about the August challenge, or sign up for it:

Yay! Fin!

Again, I'm really sorry for my lack of participation in the team thread - this one was beyond my control. Either way, my stages are done! (And I'm having trouble keeping my pants up. Woot!)
