YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

I feel guilty. I never swim.

Then again, last time DanielG guilted me into swimming, and that jellyfish ate me. Huh. So maybe not.

Then again, I had jellyfish salad last time at sushi, so I think we're even Stephens.

Yanti, if  I had my druthers, we both know I would seldom swim.  Unfortunately.....between my pathetic stroke and the injury I am spending a large quantity of time in the chlorine cesspool.

I thought I made my leg worse yesterday doing the stretch he wanted.  My PT didn't feel anything worse or new so we think the stretch might have been too soon.

ok, a quick 7.5 in this lunch time......someone is going to notice one of these days :-)
out this weekend for a 18 to 20 mile trail run, this should be fun after a busy weekend of the kids sports, BBQ and hopefully not too many drinks...

what's everyone else up to this weekend?

I'm pulling my hair out. Things have been going crazy. Fridays are usually pretty laid back. People hanging out for a while and then heading out early. I hoping to just cover the basics before I head out today. Plus I got a call from my son. He went off to school a month ago and is a little concerned because he hasn't been sleeping well lately and his heart rate seems elevated and breathing sounded a little heavier. I kind of wondered if he's been hitting the energy drinks but he said he hasn't, which doesn't really surprise me because he is anti anything except water. Anyway, I told him to go to the doctor. He's lost 20 pounds in the last month so he is now 6'2" and 155. They are doing some blood work thinking it might be thyroid related. I've got a call in to his local doctor to see if it might be related to a medication he started taking in July.

So I was just getting ready to go for a ride last night when my neighbor knocks on the door. He could tell I was just about to head out (maybe it was the shorts) so I invited him to go. We've been trying to get together for a ride for a couple of weeks. He was in a pretty serious accident while officiating a bike race last year and hasn't really been able to ride since. So I finish getting ready and headed over to his house. He comes out in his full kit and his TT bike. The TT bike was probably overkill since all I have is a mtn bike. We didn't go for very long since it was getting dark but it was fun. I was surprised that he didn't lose me. I think he was probably taking it easy since he hasn't been out for almost a year and I'm sure he was being nice.

Lunch was a 15 minute break talking to a guy that I used to work with. They are hiring. Hopefully this will go better than the interview I had last month. I guess I'll push that ride/run back to later this evening.

Yeaaaaah ... weeeelll ... I'm gonna need you to come in on Saturday, mmm'kay?

I'm plugging away. I'll start checking to make sure others haven't croaked or anything awful.

Looks like the rainy season has started here in earnest (not that it ever ended from last year--weather is WONKIEST EVER on record here in Bali), which means lots of unpredictable and hours-lasting lightning storms. This is not good for training. I am going to look into gyms ... maybe I should look harder into building my own trainer.

Looks like I'll be doing Tour de Bintan anyway--my team leader sent me an AHEM e-mail, even offering lodging. OKAAAAAY ...

If I can get through Stage 1, which is a century (not metric), I might live.

Good morning folks. I'm back from a weekend trip to see my son. In some ways he's doing really good. In other ways not so good. He seems to not handle the stress too well and it is affecting his eating and sleeping. Oh for the days when he was little and I could pick him up and snuggle with him and all his troubles would melt away. His life isn't that simple any more. On a positive note, we did get his truck fixed and it only cost $2.50. The battery cable had pulled loose so all we had to do is buy a new cable end and re-attach it.

OK, so I am really finding it hard to get the miles in....pesky pesky work!!
Almost every run planned has been reduced due to meetings, conference calls, travel, I am going to get punished next month in the MCM.
ah well, enough moaning, I still got 5 miles in today and a good run yesterday, still way off target, I think I'm gonna set my own target a little down, but I will try, just have to run a little over 10 miles every day until the end of the month HAHAHA.......

anyway.........let me go back and read a few of the posts, I think I missed some chatter....something about Yanti doing the Tour de France :-) , QueenZ has probably turned into a mermaid with all the beloved swimming and Paul kicking his neighbors butt on a MTB...think I summed it up there right?

BTW, Paul, glad your sons doing OK at least, good thoughts for you and your home team.

Thanks for the thoughts and well wishes for my son. I'm sure he'll be fine. He's just having a rough transition. Its kind of surprising for us that he's having a rough time since he's been away for up to 3 weeks at a time before without any problems.

Do what you can but don't over do it. Its better to be a little short on your goal than to be out with injuries.
