Okay, wonderful Manatees!

We have a bulging roster (a what, Yanti? Pardon you!) and here it is below. I understand that despite my intense nerdiness, I suck at HTML and I have no idea why it is beautifully, gloriously, riotously perfect in its imperfection. Kind of like us, I think.

It should be copy-and-past-able into your logs ... select here, copy, click on Change Display Settings (a little line on the left on your log page), click on the Goals tab, and either in Short or Long Term Goals, paste it in. If all else fails, copy it from my own log.

Each of the links does work. Because we are a sizable group, I would suggest that you select several members with similar goals or outlook or whatever and focus on inspiring them in their logs. Beth and I will work out some system so everyone gets followed and inspired by us as well.

That said, in this thread, please keep us abreast (a WHAT, Yanti???) of your wonderful training, achievements, life milestones, random thoughts, upcoming races, any questions or ideas you have, etc.

I further suggest that our cheerleader get his hands on Beth's pom poms right away and start cheering.

I tried to get the names in purple, but only a select special few got to be. ??? Mila, of course, is pretty in pink.

The Starfish - 2008-04-29 12:52 PM Augusta. Grew up there and moving back for just over a year. My husband is in the Army and will attend school at the post there. I see you are in the Atlanta area. Fun! I am a bit jealous. We plan to make it up to that area quite a bit. Are you doing any races in the Atlanta area this year? I am considering the Iron Girl-not really the Atlanta area but... Just concerned with the timing. We will have only been in GA for 2-3 weeks. Attempting a race in the middle of a move…not impossible just a challenge.

Iron Girl is a great race!!!  I really like the bike course and the run is mostly shaded.  Lake Lanier is about 40 minutes from me so it's actually one of the closer races.  Acworth Women's Sprint in August is another popular girls-only race and there's even a women's only race as part of the Tri The Parks series this year (but it's before you move).  Another very popular race is Peachtree City and many people from Atlanta do the Chattanooga Waterfront Oly.

I've been told that I need to submit my resume for the mascot position. Aye Aye Captain!

I've been to many cheerleading camps, have multiple outfits and can do the splits.

Ok, enough of that stuff....

My name is Jeff. I'm 39 (really?), married and have two little ones. I'm coming up on my two year anniversary on BT. I've done some sprints, one Oly and one HIM. On the running front I've done a couple of 5k's and one 1/2 Mary. I've had grand plans of taking over the world, I mean doing more and perhaps longer races, but I've been holed up in revcovery mode for the last few months.

In November, a few weeks after my first and only HIM I got rear-ended ny a construction truck and haven't been the same since. I go to physical therapy twice a week and am ready to be DONE!

Currently I'm trying to run 2-3 times a week and I do believe I just might jump in the pool tomorrow for the first time in a month. Depending on how my body reacts I hope to be back on the bike soon as well.

I live in Southern CA, work full time and can generally be counted on to be running to some kind of sports practice, school function or birthday party at any time. Sometimes I like to think I train as well, but that's another story.

I look forward to a fruitful summer. I have no idea what that means.....

P.S. I just re-read this and fixed about 47 spelling errors so I'll just aplogize in advance as they are bound to annoy someone (including me).

Cool, 'cause it gives a nice short quote piece for this post ...

Thank you, Jeff! I have this sneaking suspicion your swim will go well ... and that as you continue sending out your generous cheer as you always do, you will continue getting much better ... I know it!!!

And here is a most wonderful picture of three Manatees ... Jeff, me, and ... Dolores, who obviously thinks we need a shower, or something.

P.S. I don't know why it's coming up so huge! I am having tech issues today, clearly.

I see we have some music fans out here (I was catching up on all the group posts). I don't have a playlist so much as a constant stream of shuffling. I usually post whatever song I'm listening to at the time of my blog, so I've got plenty posted. Of course the pro is Mila, I wouldn't want to steal her thunder.

Nice to see the cool kids are all assembled and ready for a great ride with Beth and Yanti's group.

Beth and Yanti, thanks for taking the time to do this. You guys already have given so much to the BT Community.

I have not had the pleasure (Yet) of racing with Beth but I can say that racing with Yanti was definitely a great experience. I hope our race calendars match up at some point this season. (It looks promising )

I hope You kids have a blast hanging out with Yanti and Beth

TIM!!!!!

The man who makes me cry with joy at nearly every appearance in my life, which is thankfully frequent. This is a fellow of great wisdom. I strongly suggest dropping by his logs when you have a chance and/or reading anything he posts. He is the original Cool Kid.

Translation = I follow Tim around like a puppy dog and do everything he does. Okay, well, about half of what he does, twice as slowly.

I'm a (tri) virgin, too. The other virginity went YEARS ago. I'll be popping my tri cherry in October at the Subaru Women's Triathlon Series down in San Diego. I'm trying really hard not to freak myself out over it, too.
