Question: how much vitamin and minerals do you guys take?
There's also a thing like too much vitamin and it is already added to many products. Pregnant womand also need to be very careful with vitamin A, normal doses are not a problem but an overdose can damage the baby severely.

Vitamins are needed, often they function as an enzyme or a precursor (a molecule wich is being used to form other molecules). The enzymes wich aren't being used become toxic above a certain dose. See that you don't exceed the dietary reference intake too much.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dietary_Reference_Intake

Do we have a lot of pregnant women training for tris in here? just curious

I know you are trying to help but making things TOO technical with weight loss and research starts to get people off track and frustrated and by quoting vitamins in pregnant women in a triathlon training forum makes me question why you are posting in this forum for our team.

JMHO and 2 cents.

Yeah, it's a little too technical for me too and I've done a lot of research in this area because I workout like a mad dog and don't ever seem to lose weight. I know Maasen is trying to help only because of what he has gone through but I really think it is bringing down the energy in our team thread. Maasen, I'd be happy to discuss this with you outside of our team thread but lets leave this thread for the people in the weight loss challenge, please.

Thanks!

I finished my first oly today. I completed 15 minutes faster than I set as a goal. I ate very well these last two days even though we were on the road. My pre race and race nutrition was very good. I managed to run the entire 10K. It would have been a PR for me except I added a few minutes because of a port-a-pot stop(tough getting in and out of a wet tri suit). It was vert hot and humid(managed to keep well hydrated). I wont be home until late tommorow, we are staying to watch some fellow BT'ers do the 70.3 tommorow in 92 degree heat!!!! I will weigh in on Mon am. I thiink I will be down...HOPE!

An overdose of vitamin A stays in the skin for a very long time so that's also an issue when you did that months before you get pregnant.
It was just an example.

Fine for me. I just share some facts, what other people do with it is their choice. The more knowledge the better if you ask me.

As from now I'll stay out of this topic. I wish everyone succes in getting and staying as healthy as they can be.

I don't want to get into a debate with you on this thread (because I disagree with more knowledge the better) on this so thank you for agreeing to leave it alone.

Great job Mav!  Oly is a far away goal for me right now so i am so jealous.  Write up a race report for us if you want.  I love reading the race reports to see what people's minds go through during their events.

I've already got those who have posted their weight but please post the amount you LOST not your actual weight.

BTW, I am rounding numbers to the nearest whole number.

Okayyyyy...I am thrilled with the loss this week but I know it is way too much for one week. This really is the healthiest week of eating in months for me so it is a reflection of a total lifestyle change in terms of food!

Javamom, you need to pace yourself.  Awesome. Smile     Mine should've been better, but I ended the week poorly food-wise.

WOW! You guys are doing GREAT! For those of you that lost really big numbers this week please focus on just keeping that weight off for the next few weeks rather than exceeding your goals. You have done a fantastic job. Not all the reporting has been done yet but we are sitting really pretty right now.

You'll do great! Just remember that we are here cheering you on. Think about us every time you want to eat something that isn't too good for you.
