Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() lufferly - 2008-06-10 9:31 AM I left town early Saturday morning and didn't get back until last night. I did, however, post my weight on Saturday, before our fearless leader asked for it, but I guess it didn't get picked up. I was down 1.5 lbs, so I guess that would be 1 lb based on the rounding to begin with and the rounding this week. Just didn't want anyone to think I was a slacker. Congrats Team LIFT on our first week of weight loss. I did meet the 45 minute strength challenge last week (just squeaked by). Back to training today. I'm so sorry - I didn't see your number. By the way, 1.5 rounds to 2 lbs! ![]() Great job everyone! |

Member![]() ![]() | ![]() Stats for today Ate: 1675 calories Burned: 440 calories (quick swim day) Net calories: 1235 calories Not bad considering I had a really stressful day at work today and I usually overeat when that happens! I'm an emotional eater. Bored eating is my biggest enemy! ![]() Also really proud of myself because I left work late and I was really tempted to just go home instead of going to the gym but I went and got my workout in anyway. Yay for me! |

Yay for me! I am totally with you on the emotional eater thing, and so far this week, it has been awful, not so much on eating, but more just feeling lousy and unmotivated. And I'm not sure why, the last couple days I've just been really out of it and can't find my groove. If anyone has suggestions that would be great. |

Extreme Veteran![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I've been trying really hard to force myself to go change when I get home from work rather than head straight for the kitchen. So I hear all of you! Sudi, when I'm not feeling motivated, I just tell myself if I'm not going to run, bike, or do any training, I can at least go for a walk. It's better than sitting around thinking about what I SHOULD be doing. Sometimes, half way through my walk, I decide I want to get it over with and end up running part of the way. You might give it a try. Keep up the good work, Team LIFT! Sharkie, it sounds like you're back on track, not much you can do about the hormones. Better you got that over with the first weigh in rather than the last! |

Member![]() ![]() | ![]() Sharkie - 2008-06-11 7:08 AM OMG.. SHE'S FASHION ROAD KILL!!! (Sorry Listening to Got To Be Real on my ipod.. it makes me throw out random sex and the city (org serries) quotes).. Down another 2lbs in one day.. I knew that flucuation was some sort of crazy water retention or hormone spike.. So i'm FINALLY UNDER my starting weight.. -1.6lbs lost.. And I know.. I need to stop obsessively weighing myself in the AM but the huge uphill spike on Monday freaked me out.. AND I was afraid I would get voted of the island... Heh - no voting you off the island here. I hate those water/hormone spikes - they totally suck! Congrats on the 1.6! I'm with you on the totally obsessive weighing myself in the morning thing. I use it to decide what clothes I can fit in that day but it constantly backfires on me. |

You absolutely know that you have to give your body a rest but you sooooooo...... badly want to work out!! On the hated rest day I tend to cheat badly on what I eat so the next day I have to work even harder!! |

Extreme Veteran![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Hey all; we are quiet again ..... it is almost like being in a library. If any of you are looking at my training log please disregard the weight. I have a cheap electronic scale in my room that is accurate depending on how it feels ![]() So, how is everyone doing this week? |
![]() ![]() |
Expert![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Hello everyone I know I don't post much but I read it all and I will try and post more. I really appreciate you all being here, just knowing that keeps me on track Sharkie so glad those hormones are out of the way for another month! I would say stop weighing yourself everyday but then I'd be a hippocrate! My weight seems to fluctuate by a couple of pounds daily at the moment for some reaon. Just hoping Sunday will be the right fluctuation. I'm doing good. I broke one of my own rules (not eating after 9pm) - not being bad but I had been out at kids baseball games since 5, resisted all the goodies there and got home at 9pm and just had to eat. Bowl of oatmeal so pretty good I think. I'm on a kind of recovery week this week after the race last Sunday. However cos I am tied to the house with the kids this weekend I am trying to do as much of my training plan during the weekdays whilst they are at school. The weekend will be hard especially with less workout time to justify my eating. I'll just have to keep thinking of that Sunday weigh in. I can't believe we're nearly mid June already. Looks like you girls taking rest days have been doing well with your eating. Go us Team LIFT! I'll stop the essay now. Jackie |

Extreme Veteran![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() My family has had a rough day today. My step-father was diagnosed with lung cancer a couple of weeks ago and I went with him today for his first visit to the oncologist. The prognosis was not very good. Although I wasn't surprised at what the doctor said (I'm a nurse and he IS 80 years old and very deconditioned), I think he was surprised they couldn't just go in and remove it. Every week he looks forward to his outing for Mexican food. Although, we didn't go last week, I don't think I can deny him tonight. I'll try to eat smartly (and stay away from the chips - right) but I'm guessing my weigh in isn't going to go well. Hope everyone has a great weekend. |

Expert![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() so sorry to hear about your families sad news. Enjoy that mexican and you'll be back on track soon. I had chinese take out with the kids tonight (brown rice though!) - I'm sure glad weigh day isn't tomorrow as it always makes me bloat up. |

Chips are made from corn - a vegi / Salsa is made from vegis. So I do not see the problem ![]() ![]() |

Member![]() ![]() | ![]() I'm sorry to hear about your step-father too. That is really tough to deal with and he is lucky to have you to go with him. Take care of them and yourself and my thoughts will be with you. And yeah don't sweat the mexican food - if you make the right choices it can actually be pretty decent. So on Thursday night I went to a friends house for dinner and they decided to server pancakes and hash browns for dinner. AHHHHHH! I wasn't a very good girl. But yesterday I got in a good bike/run brick and today I swam an extra 1000 yds so hopefully the damage won't be too bad. I'm trying to be really good today and hoping that I can at least get 1lb tomorrow so I can stay on schedule for the month. I also went bike shopping today to get myself a tri bike. I've been riding a Raleigh hybrid trail bike for 3 yrs now and I think it is time to get a decent bike before my big race in August. Yay! Got myself a FELT T43 - nothing fancy but it is bright yellow so I should be able to find it pretty easily in transition. ![]() Hope everyone is doing well! Edited by bippers22 2008-06-14 2:22 PM |

Thanks for all the kind thoughts. I like thinking that chips are veggies, and that would probably be okay if I didn't eat a whole bowl myself! But I ate pretty well and did pass on the margarita (my step-father isn't drinking with the medications he's on right now, so we all passed). I've been out at the ballfield all weekend and the only thing I cheated on was a snowcone, even took myself a peanut butter and honey sandwich with almonds to eat on Saturday. And I got up early yesterday morning to get a swim and bike ride in. I went to the store today and got lots of fresh fruit, so hopefully I'm back on track now. And I have a sprint coming up this weekend so will have to watch myself. Hope everyone has a great week!! Keep up the good work! |
