I made it out of work at a decent hour so I was able to get both a swim and a run in tonight.

sparco - 2009-08-05 2:39 PM 5 mile run at lunchtime on the TREADMILL (work fitness center)...gasp! I really should have run outside, but had a meeting after lunch so had to keep it close...

Way to sneak in the lunchtime workout!

Tam, thanks for the chart! I was going to try to do it tonight, but I've been so busy - popping in for about two minutes at a time to read a thread here and there. Grr, I hate it when I have to actually WORK at work!

disturbed275 - 2009-08-05 8:10 AM
Was this your first time commuting?

I just moved so my commute has gone from 2 miles to 6.  I'm thinking about switching my commuter bike from my hybrid to my unused roadie.  Sounds like a good weekend project.

First time at this job. I used to commute 10 miles one way when I lived in Washington (I commuted all the way to Idaho!). I've been leery of starting up here - night shift, no roadie until a month ago (though now I'm thinking I should switch back to my mtn bike!), and being on SAR so needing to be close to my car and gear. Wouldn't you know it - we got called out last night! Sheesh! I told my leader, too; he laughed.

Anywho, my whole commute is 17 mi one way, but I'm working up to that. Weather will dictate if I do 5 or ten miles tomorrow (tonight).

Lucy, you in the PNW somewhere? Just askin', 'cause you mentioned IMCdA.

This is definitely not the chatty crew, but I kinda like it a little more mellow these days! As for not fitting in, that is the most awesome thing about challenges. Robert (rlejeune) has to get to 100% same as I do. He just has to do about eleventy bajillion more hours of training than I do to get there, but in the end, it is all who got closest to their own personal goals!

Speaking of, my goals were screwed up. With my brain all funky, not sure if I typed them in wrong, or counted wrong, or what. I think I've fixed them now, but they may adjust again. Don't worry, they got HARDER, not easier!

Slugger!!! WOW, I thought men were like silent Sams! You have proven my theory wrong. It is nice to read though. You asked if I am in the PNW, yes I exist in Idaho. Do lots of travel between Montana and WA.

I thought our team is chatting pretty good, I am usually unable to "chat", I may be shy....

Got a strength session in this morning...after 3 sips of coffee. I love having a gym, I don't have to run too far for coffee (unless I forget to set it at night) then I run while it makes. My goal is to do another session later for core. Today was Crossfit.

Supposed to swim and strength today, but hubby came home at 1am from out of town and woke me up. Needless to say, I didn't get up at the crack of stupid to do my workout. I am really limited on workout times right now cuz my kiddos are not in school and can't be left at home alone together.

I'm in the same predicament because there are way too many options.  Do we want to narrow it down somehow?  Food, play on the number three, 80's music, etc, would help...if not, we could just go with "The Generic Team"   Tongue out

Generic team...oh palllleasseee. Somthing to do with a big race I am thinking. We all may not be doing the same race, but we all have huge goals. oh course because I really have been tasered I like Tasers R NOT Us. Don't want Dee to give us 3 shots.

Afternoon rockstars!

I hope all is going well--I'm looking forward to the stories of great conquests this weekend for you guys racing.

I got 12 miles in (should have been more) for an hour 1:45 (should have been 2:00).  I went to the doctor about my knee pains and it is nothing that should slow me up. I'm off to ART and deep tissue next week.   Bah but not a complete bah.
