Good morning folks! Not sure what I am doing today... weather is iffy and I am having a bit of lack of motivation. I usually swim but the pool is closed for the holiday. I dunno, I'll figure it out...

Have a great day everyone!

DAN......are you talking behind my back??? LOL!

i WAS away.  not quite vacation....but im home now.

WHAT a fabulous weekend.

the weather was INCREDIBLE.

the scenery PRISTINE.

we have a camp up in the Allegheny National Forest, close to Kinzua in Hearts Content PA.

it has to be one my favorite places to be!!

we went up w my brother and sister in law, my nephew, neice and great neice, my sister in laws cousin and his four year old son, and my husband and three boys.

quite the CAMP FULL....AND boat full for that matter

we spent the boating and then fire-side sittin', hiking, and general family frivolity.

while the kids were jumping off these huge rocks into the lake, i manged to sneak in a small OWS, 15 mins.....still getting used to swimming w/out lines.

and then i ventured out early before everyone was awake, and ran  this AMAZING trail (cross country ski course) back in the woods right near our campsite.  4 mile trail run WOOT!

everytime i come back from camp it just feels all is well with the world.

dontcha love that feeling?

its back at it tomorow.  the kids will have a 4-day week.  im hoping to get in a 8 miler tomorrow.

rain and cool in the forecast.  PERFECT long run weather.

HAPPY TO BE HOME!  and feels good to be missed.

sounds like a great weekend and a very neat place to camp.  We're doing BBQ in the backyard this afternoon with daughter and son-in-law.  Hope to walk/jog in the late afternoon, if not then at least a core workout.

I got a run done yesterday and a swim today.  I have a little fever and my baby has the sniffles.  We are laying low for the rest of the day.

Hello team, it has been a great weekend here in GA.

Visit from a school chum and her son and hubby.  Went to the Aquarium, Stone Mountain and Braves game.  Very busy weekend.  Did get in some of my walking and a run.

Picked my bicycle up from the shop so I need to get out on it for a spin and make sure I'm happy with what they did.

Hope everyone is having a great Labor Day.

Wow, maybe I should always be on holiday!  I went out for my "run" session about 4 hours after BBQ burger AND I took the dog.  Talk about a distraction!  However it was my fastest session yet (still slow LOL) and my longest actual running time.

I could get to like this running thing

Staci must be on vacation or sleeping or both...

Wow - I was just checking to make sure she didn't somehow rig the responses while she was away to claim TopPage on vacation.

If there is a way - Stacie will figure it out

Sounds like camping was great Stacie - cool place - can I borrow the keys

mr wgraves.  you know me too well.  i DO have my ways.  hee hee!

and yes, by all means, you can borrow the keys anytime.

it is indeed one of THE most SPECTACULAR places in the Northeast, for sure!

the forest is amazing - all, what do they call it, 'old growth'.  tree after tree after tree after tree...a few cabins here and there, but for the most part, just Northwestern PA wilderness.

and Kinzua (where we put in) is just pristine.  the water is clear and warm (this time of year).  the banks are covered in trees...almost every time were up there while were on the boat we spot a bald eagle or two.

my brother and sister in law saw a black bear on the way home from boating.

its grand!

speaking of the weekend...

i finished up my 8 miler this morning....ive committed to doing ALL my long runs outside, pounding away on the pavement, much to my chagrin.

the streets of Cranberry, any street for that matter is decidedly NOT my happy place.

and all i could think about was running THAT trail in the woods.

oh, but ill make the best of it and good thing i have a vivid imagination or myu 1/2 MARY training would be pure torture.

DEE.  sounds like you've discovered a new fueling plan and training strategy - BBQ burger - could you put that in chewy bloc form?  LOL  and running w/DOG...i could just see me tripping OVER my dog and spraining something.

seriously though, all kidding aside.  WAY TO GO ON YOUR FASTEST LONGEST RUN TO DATE.  youre AWESOME!!!

woo hoo for you!
