I have not done a single step of run, a single turnover of my legs on the bike, or so much as splashed in the pool this month. Grrr. I am having problems with bad shin splints. Again. Seems like every year this happens to me. I did, however, convince my hubby that I NEEDED to spend $125 on a 3-session run technique clinic through the local tri club. It starts tomorrow night. And then I need to figure out which pool I want to swim at, so that I can then buy a new gym membership. THEN, I WILL complete a half marathon distance this month, and I WILL ride my pretty little bike (on the trainer), and I WILL (maybe) do some swimmin' while I'm at it. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Oh yeah, the shirts. Me=small. And I vote for white tshirts. Or red, or blue, or black. Orange will never get out of the closet. Unless I wear it as a nightshirt. Then I need a large. Or what about purple t-shirts with a green monster? Is purple considered manly these days? Or at least neutral? Wouldn't want our manly goulies feeling...different...LOL.

I must be a good mom. At the local walmart tonight with my 2 kids, going to pick up som fabric for my 13-year old daughter's class project, we saw an out of control beyatch of a teen. She was walking around the store with 3 friends, and started talking smack about being mad, she didn't want to be in the store. One of her friends said "you're always mad". She started punching at whatever was on the endcaps as she passed by. The first near casualty was a small fire safe (for important papers). Her friend caught it-barely. Then she kept going. A store employee came around the corner to see what was going on, but by then the only one around was this girl..by herself. The employee let her keep walking, until she joined her friends, then asked if they needed help finding anything. They just laughed and walked away. My daughter promptly walked over and started cleaning up the display(s) the girl had knocked down. The employee came back, and was very appreciative of the help. I swear. Some people's kids just don't get it. I hope mine always do. Kinda like tonight. We chatted briefly about it in the car on the way home. My 13 year old was just as disgusted as I was. And my 7 year old wasn't terribly impressed either. Oh, and I think the employee got these kids kicked out of the store. I'm glad she didn't approach that without a manager with her, though. Coulda been ugly.

LOL. I am just really rambling tonight. Or we could call it Amy's stream of consciousness. Yes. That's it. Sounds a whole lot better that way. So. Put me down for a small. Who's doing the shirts?

Good morning everyone!!!

I will take care of the shirts. I have been looking online, and there is also a place locally that does them, so I'm price shopping right now.

I had another horrible night. I was in bed asleep by 8:30, yeah, I was tired. I was up coughing my head off by 11, out on my recliner by 11:30, back to sleep around midnight. I slept on my chair until about 4:20. Now I'm up and at work.

I really wanted to get a few miles in tonight but with this cough I don't know. Maybe I'll try a power walk, that's better than nothing.

Have a great day everyone!!!

isnt that just special.

seriously.  some people's kids.

i'm always point out inappropriate behavior of other kids to my kids and then promptly tell them in VIVID DETAIL what i would do to them if i EVER found out that they acted that way in public.

in fact.  my oldest son, who is not always in command of his emotions (legitimately) had a coniption (sp?) at the iceskating rink, cuz his dad threw away his Icee (it was time to go...we dont do Icees in the car)

he claims it was only 1/2 drunk, my husband said the cup was empty.

my oldest DEMANDED that my husband buy him another Icee.

ok.  our children demanding anything from us, NEVER FLIES.

my husband said no (as well he should) told him to take his skates off to return and that they were leaving.

and my son proceeded (from what i understand, i wasnt there so i didnt see it) to have the MOTHER of all temper tantrums.

ok THAT REALLY doesnt fly.

long story short, he's not going anywhere anytime soon.

no way.  no how.  are my kids gonna act like THAT anywhere!

Sorry to hear you're still not feeling well.  I'd say go for the power walk just to be on the safe side.

You know the rule, right?  Above the shoulders, it's okay to workout.  Below the shoulders keep on resting.

WOOHOO!!! To your kids for thinking her behavior was unacceptable.

I frequently point out bad kids to my kids when we're out.

I don't have a lot of good things to say about my in-laws, but I have reaped the benefit of grandma not taking that kind of crap from kids. Our kids have stayed with my in-laws since I went back to work a few years ago. Before they were in school she'd take them everywhere and they knew how to behave.

I have never had a problem taking my kids out in public. I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR THAT!!!

I'm sure I'd be just as frustrated if I were in your shoes right now.  It's alot easier to give this advice than it is to take it.

Perhaps start with a walk and then pick it up to running pace to see how you handle.  If it feels like you're forcing things then back off.  If not keep going, but don't overdo it.

You know the rule, right?  Above the shoulders, it's okay to workout.  Below the shoulders keep on resting.

I'm tired of resting. I'm also growing more and more concerned about my race in 12 days.

I like this, I'm going to try this tonight. Thanks Neal.
