Elite 3144 | Subject: RE: Ghoulie March (biking) Madness!!! givemashot - 2010-03-01 10:11 PM Wow. A gouhl goes away for a day or two and there's a whole new thread! I can't believe it's March already. I have no idea what y weight is...I was down about 1-5 to 2 pounds before this trip...but having been wined and dined in teh finest of establishments for 2+ days now...I don't want anything to do with a scale, LOL. I had to skip my last 2 workouts before I went out of town because of minor things like making sure there were groceries in the house for the sitter to feed the kids. LOL. And now all the endless food, and waiters with wine, and hosts that require i drink another pina colada--with DOUBLE rum!!! Good times, until I have to step on the scale. I am excited to get home and see what the mailman brought me. Maybe a cool goulie shirt? I am still slightly buzzed from the wine with dinner tonight, and the hubby is asking me to turn off the light, so I'm gonna go now. Hopefully I'll be able to check in again soon. If not, I'll be back home Thursday afternoon-ish. Then again I have to work Thursday night. If I don't check in while I'm still in Phoenix, I'll be back Friday-ish. (that sounds sooo far away. ).Does anybody know of a good tri outlet in Phoenix? Our hotel is righ by the airport, and the convention is downtown. TIA if anyone has any suggestions. MWAH and goodnight! Evening Amy. Sounds like you're having a good time out there! I know that Trisports.com is based out of AZ, but it looks like it's about a 2 hour drive from Phoenix. Here's their address: 4495 S Coach Dr Tucson, AZ 85714 Also, Tribe Multisport in Scottsdale has a good Yelp rating: 1800 North Scottsdale Road Scottsdale, AZ 85257 Did I miss any good ones Kim? Have fun on your vacation and enjoy the wine and yummy dinners! Edited by iowagander 2010-03-02 12:24 AM |

Champion 6225 | Subject: RE: Ghoulie March (biking) Madness!!! MORNING GHOULIES. ANN. sinus crap sucks. rest and feel better soon..... kick butt spin last night. i tried out a new instructor that everyone is raving about at the Y. for good reason. she's great. and im not easily impressed. i did a 500 yard swim beforehand just to see where i was pacewise, anticipating the indoor tri in three weeks. room for improvement, but i wasnt going all out either. just knowing i've lifted all the expectations has made a HUGE difference mentally and emotionally, enough that i can 'train' with a clear head. such a game it is sometimes. stacieb |

Look forward to catching up. The best part of the day......picking up the mail. There was a white envelope in the box with a fabulous GHOULIE Technical T-shirt. Yeah Ann!!! You rock. I can't wait to wear it. In fact, I'm going to do the local St. Patty's 5k in a few weeks and think it will be the perfect race shirt to run for a Ghoulie PR. Run Ghoulie's Run. WOOHOO!!! |

The whole goal was to swim a sub 16 minute 1000 yd time trial by the the beginning of March. I started out swimming a 17:21 in November and today's time trial I clocked a 15:37! To say I'm happy with the progress would be an understatement. I cannot wait to race now. Now it will be nice to focus a little less on the swim and a little more on the bike from here on out. Dude that's crazy fast! Great job! It's nice to see that hard work pay off, huh? Yeah, I was doing something close to 50000 yds a month. I'm pretty sure the chlorine smell is permanent now 50000 yds a month??!!??!! my arms got tired just thinking of that. Nice job Neal. |

Pro 4482 NJ | Subject: RE: Ghoulie March (biking) Madness!!! Well, doesn't look like I'll have too many pages to read to get caught up on tonight. I've been busy today. Meetings all morning, but an afternoon actually spending some time thinking and planning. Tonight I'm taking a work friend who's in town from Boston out to dinner. Lots to catch up on, so doubt I'll be home too early. Since I overslept this morning and didn't make it to the pool, today may wind up being a rest day. Perhaps I can at least get a resistance stretching session in before bed. |

Sounds like the best thing you can do today is stay home, get lots of rest, and sip hot tea. Running sounds like a very bad idea. |
