Well, my immune system has finally given out on me at the worst possible time and I am at home sick halfway through my first box of tissues and only 3 hours into the day... Terrible terrible timing for my fight on saturday but I figure its just 3 x 2 min rounds so I really hope I can kick this by then and last it out! Added to that its impacting on the last 10 days of training for the 24h tri next weekend but I figure I can call it a taper.... Anyway, enough of my pity party. Its a beautiful day here on the GC so I think I should get myself out and about for a walk at least in the sun. Hope everyone is having a great day/evening! Hope your doing better Rach and it's not affecting your breathing. 2 minutes is an entirety when trying to fight and not being able to get any oxygen in due to be clogged up. I had an old trick you might want to use, after the ref checks your mouthguard is in, run your hand past your mouth and transfer it over to your hand (enclosed in your fist) so you can breath through your mouth easier. Make sure you keep your defence up so you don't get a kick in the mouth though if you go this route. Thanks for the well wishes everyone - I am feeling much better today, just a bit of a cough and hopefully my energy and oxygen levels will be close to normal by fight time tonight. I'm feeling good right now anyway! Nice tip Joe too, I do hate my mouthguard but I had way too much done to my teeth when I was younger to risk them... |

(ok so it is 15.65 to 15.48 % but it is still a lead) So as teams we are both behind the percentage of the month (19%) Looks like we need more time on the pavement/trails/treadmill - Lets see if we can get everyone to 100% by August 31 - no issues/problems with life or injuries getting in the way.

Mine was awesome - I won my fight and lots of my friends were there to watch. I also gained a few new fans and for the first time ever I got prize money which was an added bonus Had a good day yesterday, nice ride with a good friend, delicious breakfast out and the afternoon at the beach. Now I'm back in work and still pretty sick to be honest, got a nasty cough that I can't shift. Hopefully 5 days will do the trick and I will be right as rain for the big race next weekend! |

Sorry that I didn't update the spreadsheet for a week and gave some false hope to the West Now 19.60% to 16.xx% |

Extreme Veteran 668 Melbourne | Subject: RE: August East-West Run/Jog/Wog/Walk Challenge! Morning all, pretty good weekend my way as well, got some good exercise in and the wife was telling me I should go for the IM, so looks as though end of the month I'll be sitting at the computer patiently with the credit card in hand ready to commit. Tomorrow morning am off to check out a new pool near work as a way of finding one that will allow me a good 2 hour swim session when required until the bay warms up enough shortly, haven't swum in about 4 months now but am really looking forward to getting back into it. Challenge wise got 2 sessions in, currently sitting just under 20% (didn't include the 2kms taking the dog for a walk yesterday, I felt guilty for crumbling to temptation while buying the paper and picked up a chocolate bar as well) |

Master 2042 Albany, NY | Subject: RE: August East-West Run/Jog/Wog/Walk Challenge! Yeah, my running and updating the spreadsheet were not the greatest last week. Sorry. I think I'm caught up now though. Had a busy week but had a great (but still busy) weekend. One of my best friends from college was in town and came over for lunch yesterday and for the afternoon. Her kids are the same as mine so the afternoon was a big hit all around! Today we were at my niece and nephew's birthday party. Their house is always mentally exhausting and I stomach always hurts from the food... Hubby went to bed early so I just have to plan when I'm going to get some runs in this week and them I'm off too. Good night! |

Pro 4482 NJ | Subject: RE: August East-West Run/Jog/Wog/Walk Challenge! Hope everyone had a good weekend and got all their miles/minutes done. I got the planned 10 mile run done yesterday and a nice, easy 20 mile bike today. Unfortunately my 15+ yo washing machine died mid-rinse cycle last night with a load of sheets. (had to be sheets rather than a small load of workout stuff) Schlepped the soggy mess to a friends for a spin and then off to the appliance store for a new washer. That purchase was just about as exciting as the new tires (car) I bought last month. Got to do it, but absolutely zero fun factor. Washer will be delivered on Friday. Gross workout stuff will be piling up in the interim. |

And to make it even better, it's being run right near my house (5kms to the start and transition area, run and bike legs go 300 metres either side of my house). Really hoping I can do this one (3000 entries it appears, so hopefully won't sell out too quick), behave you achilles!! Bike course is going to be awesome (shutting down a whole freeway for it). I have been watching this news very carefully in the last few days (big buzz over at slowtwitch.com) AND I AM SO EXCITED TOOOOOOO! I just started a thread about it in Tri Talk. I am absolutely in Mister Joe and you can bet I will be sitting at my computer on August 28! Yay for us, you especially! Imagine how excited you'll be when they announce the first annual international Ghoulie Crusher's Get together as well What when where? I wanna go! |

Looks like we are doing the same race! Crystal Lake, one of my favorite venues! Maybe I'll see you there Awesome! I'll be the chick that looks like she's bursting out of her wetsuit... Eh, and if I keep eating this way, I'm gonna be the chick who DID burst out of her wetsuit....... |
