Subject: RE: Rules & Terms December Swim Challenge
Hey Renee,
Regarding the Open water swim rules, can an open water course verified by www.gmap-pedometer.com be used, such as this one (http://tinyurl.com/b9rzo)? At the turn shown there is a boating/Manatee sign that shows up as a faint whitish dot, we have several swim distances verified using this method.

"Open water swims will apply if the distance is measured by a GPS type of device or by a sponsoring swim race."

Otherwise this sounds like the kicker I need for my off-season maintenance plan. I presently live on the East Coast of FL, was born in Texas, raised in central NY, spent 4 years in Idaho and 3 years in Indianapolis...whatever team needs me :-)

I wish we had created an Album just for the wonderful men's assatars. Those were some mighty righteous assatars.

Start thinking about what avatar you want the losing teams to change their avatars to. Also, we'll need a poem/homage that everyone else has to post in their signature line. These 2 items must be agreed upon before December 1 (to avoid whining).

I vote that absolutely NOBODY can change their avatar to Fat Bastard (in case Joel is lurking).

Don, I think that measurement system sounds fair and equitable. The idea is to have an objective means of measuring it and if your goal is based on the measurement then it's a wash anyway - unless you don't finish the OW swim but that's a different matter.

And, dude, you're in Florida so you're on Florida Force. Vanquish your traitorous thoughts.

Workoutbunny, are you sure you don't want to be on the West Coast Cutties? Also, there is a large, albeit hybernating, Colorado group on BT. You could start that group or if you REALLY want to be on Texas, I'll put you in the Texas team. Let me know.

I'm not really West Coast - so if the Texas Yee Haws will have me - I'll go there.  We have a border with Texas :-)

Well, I will probably regret this but I need to get back into the pool and back onto BT so please sign me up.  I don't really belong anywhere but I suppose the MidAtlantic team would be most appropriate.

Cheers.

I'm willing to captain the SW team.  We need a new name, because the current one is too close to "cutie."  I say we call ourselves the Southwest Swashbucklers.  Savy?

'ello poppets! Here's another Coloradan here and I really need to get my behind back in the pool! Don't see a "Colorado" team, so I suppose I would go on the SW Swashbucklers if that's OK, where hopefully there'll be a fair share of rum?

Awww Jen, that was just some 'toe-in-the-water' smack talk. Just, you know, clearing out the cobwebs in the ol' smacklobe in my brain.

You were a righteous teammate, Jen.   Joel is opting out of this challenge, can you believe it?!
