I'll take 25 extra minutes, too....looks like I should be past goal anyway since it's been too cold to swim or bike much.

Don:

DO NOT PUSH IT!!! ... we are waaaaaay to early in the season to risk a long term injury.  Any chance the other teams would let us pick up minutes and/or miles?

I'm in this week for 36.11 miles.  I'm going to drop the volume this week in preparation for the half-mary on Saturday, but am on track to meet my goal of 50 miles (which exceeds last month's volume).

Keep those legs healthy!

DRM - 2006-02-12 11:56 AM *** Hey Everyone, Ok I've come to a curcial part regarding my calf injury for the team. I either have to forfeit my commitment to the team or request a goal change. So far, things are looking good, I was able to do 24 minutes without any problem yesterday, but then lightly sprained my anvkle on a curb during a kiddie run following my wifes 5k race. No biggie, iced it and IB yesterday and this morning. So instead of being a moron and pushing my leg to reach my original 350 minutes goal. I'd like to stay with the team but with a commitment of a total of 275 minutes from my original 350 minutes. I can build up to 90 this week and 110 the following week. This cool with you guys? I'd hate to hear another other team start whining about us being 100% because of this... Don

My total for last wesk's 163:14 min. That comes to 326:09 for my monthly total.

T will run 30 or 45 min's for you to keep the teams total, if needed. Let me know. I seem to be on track to exceed my goal!

I tried to run 8 this weekend, but due to my mapping mistake I only went 6.2 Oh well, I am ahead of my planned schedule anyway and already up to 52.7% of my goal!

Hey Don:

I did the 25 minutes today, if you want it! Let me know and I'll keep it out of my count next week. I did 2.13 on the dreadmill, playing around with pace and speed. I find that I will work harder there if I put myself next to someone who's running like crazy. If I get next to someone watching soap operas while strolling along and thumbing through people magazine, I get lazy and resentful (why am I running!?) anyway, I was going to blow off the whole thing, but got myself in there for all the time I had available. Not bad.

Now this afternoon I take DS to Running Club - he went for the first time last week and LOVED it!

I'm at 53.7%. I should have had another 2.7 miles but the roads were iced over.

Go Force!

Looks like most of us are really poised to exceed our goals. I'd really like to hit mine before marathon...I've got a duathlon this coming weekend, but I dunno...with rampdown happening after the duathlon (since marathon is the next weekend) I don't know if that will definitely happen. I'd like to NOT have to use the marathon to complete my goal, but if need be, oh well...it's there.

GO FORCE! You're all doing REALLY well!!! Woohoo!!!

Excellent job everyone, week 2 is in the bag, see attached. Please review your totals and make sure I didn't mess anything up.

We're right on target as a team with 49.6% completed at 42.6% of the month. Brian (huengsolo) is leading the way at 91.9%, picking up my slack!

BTW, thanks to all of those who offered to pick up some time from my original goal. I think we're ok on this issue.

Giddyup!

Don

I blew it out for us last night on my second run.  I had re-calculated my goal and realized I couldn't get there.  I will do some additional miles to make it up.  I think one longer run this week and I should be able to get on my plan!!

We are doing great!!  What an effort, lets keep it up!!!

Hey Don!

On your spreadsheet, I should be listed with 10 miles the first week (not 7), 11.5 miles the second week, total 21.5 as of Sunday.

I need all I can get - got some sort of stomach virus last night and I'm on the couch with gingerale today....yuk!

Alan,
Massive run yesterday! Be careful with lifting all those weights and doing all this running and riding.

Thanks Don.  You do what you gotta do.  I plan on taking it easy the rest of this week and getting in hte remainder of the extras next week.  Then it will be a reduced week and a race on March 4 in Winter Haven.

Don:

This challenge thing is working ... logged some extra runs/volume that I otherwise would have spent doing something like cleaning the garage !

That being said, I am in danger of exceeding my monthly goal as I plan on doing a 6.2 tempo run during lunch today (which will put me over the 50 mile mark for the month).

Outside of the personal benefit of increased running volume to help negate the beer I drink, is there any advantage to the team if I increase my goal by 30% to 65 miles for the month?

Hey all,
I had a deep tissue massage on my calfs and feet yesterday, wow did that 'hurt' at times! My issue is not with the big muscles of the calf but with the small long ones that run along the sides of the Tibia. Never knew anything about them. I had small calcuim deposits or knots from repeated injuries and stress. MT was amazed at one of them he just had to go get a co-worker to feel it! He said it is also affecting my archs and worked my feet too, heaven! Right leg feels like its brand new today. Hopped out of bed and felt nothing and rode the RB into work today.

I'm confident now that I'll nail my goal...phew, glad this is over.
