I just bought Local Hero from Sufferfest to add to the collection.  Can't wait to try it out!  Had a good 3 hr ride outside this weekend, it felt great.  I really think the trainer rides are helping much more than just normal outdoor rides during the week.

I've been meaning to get the Long Scream. I definitely feel stronger on the bike. Should be, I worked harder. But it is cool. 20 minutes till trainer time!

OMG. HS!

I bumped up the 6x4s to 105%.  I really thought I beat each NP target (241), but I missed each by one or two. I did hit 251 for the last one though!!!

THEN, I did SF "One Long Scream". I felt I hit the "Crag" so hard I would dial it back to 90-95%... but just did it straight up. The interval for the TT was 220 for my NP target. I hit 219!!!

....and I'm spent.

I FEEL GREAT!

Anyway... one long scream is a great video. So hard not to want to blow it up watching them guys TT. As usual the guys at SF throw in some twists to keep you interested. Loved it!

"Like" ! I bumped mine up (I think 4x6?) last night to 110 and omgwtf! Went to do my fit today and wanted to cry from the lactate burning when I started spinning.

racing against friends is the best, i have a few buddies i race and train with frequently, you should see some of the email strings, lol

definitelty not pg rated!!

Got on the road again last night, i have not been on the trainer in 2 weeks, the weather has been good.  I have a great loop with an 8% climb and two measured 4 mile tt courses (out and back)  so i got a 9 min, 11 min, 11 min threshold and above interval session in, for a 1h20m ride.

will probably see the trainer tomorrow night, do not think i can get outside.

keep up the good work guys!!

So did you do the 6x4s at 110%FTP (the original is set at 105%FTP correct)?  And, you did those two in the same session???  Well done - thats mental toughnes as much as physical.  Let us know how your workouts go the next couple of days.  I am thinking you may be recovering from that awhile LOL.

I was so close to the first page of the TR leaderboard for TSS in April until I left for 10 days on vacation.  So close.  Still doing 2-3 trainer rides per week and my long ride outside.  I do not think that will change anytime soon.

Well at least on TR I do the workout. Then last two weeks I increased the percentage to 102%. Then last night 105%. So I don't actually know what that is, that's just what I did.

Today I feel it.

I'm sure I will not be 100% on tomorrow's session. That one may need to be a little milder.

So, we're going into May now...  Time for a new test yet?

Talking smack before race day is fun... gives me a reason to go out harder, and train harder. DJ you better watch out! So on to my new numbers. My weight has been fluxuating... I never know what to is going to be. This morning, it was 126.5. And my 20 minute test gave me a new FTP of 187. So my new w/kg is 3.26. Need to find out what it was last time. Don't think I'll see my weight drop so much again, so time to rally push it. Edit to add previous numbers 130 lbs, 170 ftp, and 2.88 w/kg. So I'm up 9.39%. (Someone want to check my math?)

Nice Ride!  I love HHNF... Sufferfest picked some good footage for that one  You put up some massive watts there!

OK I just had my first DNF trainer ride.  I went for Local Hero tonight.  I was kinda tired and didn't really want to, as it was late at night and I had already ran 8 miles today.  But I got up for it and was hanging in there until about the 55 minute mark, and then "it" hit me.

I'm still not sure what "it" was, but I had to make a b-line to the bathroom, and it was *not* pretty.  LOL sorry I should have warned you first!

This was probably a bad idea, especially considering I want to test on Thursday, and ride a century on Saturday.  I'm wondering if I need to push the test til next week...

local hero is also the only one i have DNF'd, i think i made it through the pyramids and exploded in style somewhere in the first of the sprint starts.  That is probably the toughest one of all the ones i have done, the pyramids drain you like a vampire then the sprints rip you apart like a wearwolf...LOL  i watch too much True Blood.

Although I am surprised that i was not recommended a new FTP, because both 20 min efforts were above the current FTP, and this is supposed to be a workout that you can use for FTP as it is essentially 2x20m workouts.  And i was due for a test.

Nate, if you are still here, any ideas??

I got thru the pyramids and about halfway through the sprints before i had to make a 'run for the border' if you know what I mean.  Weird, I didn't even have taco bell this time!

OK even stranger is that my right eyelid is swollen now.  No fever though.  I wondering if the two are related.  Probably should see a doctor today...

I think the "recomend a new FTP" is just a joke. I did it too and there is nothing. It's just a little smack talk.

HHNF is one of my favs. I am trying to get through all of them, set up to do Local Hero this last Sunday... but the video didn't work. It work just playing it, but when I dragged and dropped all I got was audio. Finally gave up and did something else... good thing because I was whooped form my run... we have a "Incline" here... 2000ft of stairs over .7 miles with a 4 mile run down. Set a new PR. I'm finally feeling good, test tonight.

Mine is June 5th(standard century). I'm in the best shape ever for this time of year and this event which I have done before (the metric century), but I have not been getting much distance work in. I will probably start doing 50, 60 each weekend till then. Still willing to stick to FTP/trainer work till then. After that it will be distance work for my other events.
