What I find absolutely rediculous is why I occasionally get sucked into internet debates that I really don't give a crap about in the first place.  It NEVER turns into a rational discussion about the topic, but only back and forth over the last thing posted.  By the end, you are angry and fighting over things that the thread didn't even mention.  Most of the time you get mad what what we think/interpret the intent of the last post was rather than the subject matter.  It is absolutely stupid and unproductive and only adds negativity to your life...

And trust me, after last year, I MUCH prefer to keep postive people and energy around me.  Seriously considering getting off this internet roller coaster.

whenever i post something in a more...volatile...thread, i rethink, reword, delete, and come back to my post several times before i hit submit.  (maybe this is why my posts come off as intelligent, they are well-edited)  i try to voice my opinion, acknowledge the other side, and back out.  and when threads derail, i only read and don't post, unless it IS something i care about.

point being....either take tj's advice and don't let it bother you, or take mine and just....don't post!  haha the internet is too full of people far too anxious to you (generic, not specifically you, kido) off!

Yeah, I follow that.  I don't even START to get into a coversation I know will be an issue or I am outgunned (which is probably 99% of the time).  I don't know much about much.  Maybe civil engineering and enough to be dangerous about tri.

What happens, is I contribute to an inocuous thread (at first blush) and then it get's heated up and I feel compelled to defend a position I really don't care that much about in the first place compared to getting healthy, or my relationships with friends and family or even a topic that directly effects me.

Y'know, as far as idiots on the Internet and IRL go (and if I can't tell who the idiot is ... then ... uh ... ) ...

Sometimes you just gotta rest content in the knowledge of your own superiority.

And I continue them because of you!!

You are both wrong.  I have no proof, but you just are.

Now that is brilliant. I'm going to rest content, even if it's not true.

I resign to the fact that everyone is superior to me (or think so).  I'm fine with that.

I have always been a "actions speak louder than words" guy anyway - better to catch them off guard.

Indeed. Note that I specifically said "in the knowledge of" ... and not "in your own superiority."

Can someone tell me that no matter how hungry I am when I go to bed, I have to appetite the next morning.  And can pretty easily go through the entire day and not feel the NEED to eat.  But between the hours of 6pm and 10pm?  Look out.

I'm absolutely the same way, except it's like 6pm to 6am. Which here, basically means dark. I think I'm a vampire.

probably why I'm a fatty mcfatterson...  2/3 my day's calories 2-4 hrs before I go to bed.

Side note:  My wife heard that taking multivitamins with iron undermine synthroid.  Too bad it was two days AFTER I dropped 12 bucks on a bottle of one-a-days.  I'm glad she found that out.  I guess she's worth keeping around a while longer!

I'm thinking my endocornologist might have mentioned that?

I'm the opposite. Eat first thing and have a hard time stuffing my pie hole after 2pm. Not hungry at all.

I'm sure you can get someone to help you fill your pie hole...

But seriously, the thought of eating in the morning is almost nausiating.  Give me a couple hours at least, then I can go for a nice brunch or something if required of me.

Recently, I have taken to eating a Fiber one bar or two at about 3am...  I can't seem to keep from waking up around then and eating a small something seems to make me go to bed again sooner.

I figured it out.  I eat when I'm bored or sitting around.  Hence the evening glutony.

yes...

I will double check to see if they have iron in them.  But what self respecting multi vitamin wouldn't have iron in it?

I may need to do a bit more research.  I'm supposed to take the synthroid early with water on an empty stomach.  Maybe I can take my multi later in the day or evening after the synthroid has been well absorbed?  I'm not sure.

Random question: what's goofier:

British Olympic commentators tacking an extra "R" onto everything (poor Canadar...)

or

Bob Costas?

I ran into Bob at the St. Louis airport once...  He is TINY!

I giggle at the R's though.  Kat Deeley from "so you think you can dance" does it, but honestly, she's SO smoking hot, she gets a pass from me.

I'll refrain from answering the "goofier" question untill I can do more research.
