pitt83 - 2012-09-17 1:45 PM DON'T buy at Wal-Mart! They have specific models built for their stores only and the manufactures are squeezed on margin, so they cut corners in components. A Samsung from wal-Mart isn't identical to a Samsung at Best Buy. You'll often not find the exact same model numbers. I just bought a 32" Sony for the bedroom and a 28" Toshiba for our daughter's LCD and LED respectively. I notice no difference, except the LED is thinner and makes for a cleaner wall mount. I have a 50" DLP Samsung in the man cave which is 4yo and still awesome.

GTK- ran to walmart yesterday to check their prices.

What about on Overstock?

even worse! I bought a DVD recorder from them and it needed service. No warrantee. OK, I was in for a bunch of money (since these were new to the market at the time). Went to an authorized repair center and the guy said he doesn't work on wal-Mart merchandise. I said I had bought through Overstock and he said, nope, the model number is for a Wal-Mart device. I called overstock and, all of the sudden, they're more than willing to refund me and give me 10% on my next order. I caught them selling something they weren't licensed to.

My house has a forty-something-inch old RCA tube TV in the living room. The other tube TV with built in DVD player has yet to be plugged in.

I feel behind on the times.

You got big tubes.

lisac957 - 2012-09-17 12:23 PM Anyone ever have VERY inappropriate dreams about a co-worker?

Yep, but none that I'm willing to discuss.

Fill I have inappropriate dreams about you. Wait -- describe inappropriate.

Donkey punch??

Oh then no I didn't have inappropriate dreams about you.

Thanks - I was worried since you're married now.  I'd be even more worried if they continued.

After about 5 years, I had some work on my Samsung (Old school DLP... don't get).

Repair guy said to stay away from Sony.

He claimed they were Samsung guts with a Sony exterior and price tag.

Internet flames Samsung pretty hard, but he liked them.

Guy is repair only, he only sells used TVs that he refurbished of all brands... so I trust the credibility.

I have a Sony and a Samsung and I like the Samsung better besides being less $.

Cord likes watching his Mom's home videos of himself in the tub, when he was a teenager.  The high def works better on the Samsung.  He shows it to all his "buddies".  He's quite proud.

Nope, yo mama.

Yo' mama's mama.

I know some will disagree but I posted earlier that I recommend Costco. Just look carefully at the features and specs to make sure you're getting what you want.

I believe Overstock is a division of Wal-Mart, no?

Nope it's not. I always thought it was. Or had some affiliation.

Best Buy has Geek Squad delivery and setup.  It is $269.98 for mount and setup for 56" and smaller TVs.  Sounds like what you need.

Ok, so where do I go?

I know some will disagree but I posted earlier that I recommend Costco. Just look carefully at the features and specs to make sure you're getting what you want.

Will they deliver?  I am a one woman show with a bad back.

Best Buy has Geek Squad delivery and setup.  It is $269.98 for mount and setup for 56" and smaller TVs.  Sounds like what you need.

TW

Definitely need to be mounted, but not sure I will pay for that :-)

Don't forget that the Cali-based internet retailers now have to charge Cali Sales-Tax...

8.5-10% depending on where the company is based.

pitt83 - 2012-09-17 1:45 PM DON'T buy at Wal-Mart!

I've done OK with Best Buy. I have had to return certain things and never an issue. Prices are fair and, if you know what you want, service is good enough.

Wal mount is nice, but not an amateur job to make it look good. I did 2 bitchin' wall installs and they're fantastic! Had to run the sattelite feed in, electric, HDMI cables and the TV mount. All of the wiring is gone; just a set and the box.
