Hard to believe Bush said he would "stay the course even if Laura and Barney were the only two in agreement with him". I just don't know what to make of that other than arrogance. Can't be the application of sound decision making principles.
Perhaps if Bush had his own "Monica" he'd be more at peace with himself and more in tune with our world. Or maybe he's back on the sauce.

Interesting read. And it highlights something that I've long seen in the military. You want something done, go to small-unit leaders. The O-1's, and the E-7s and -6s that run the platoons and squads (ok, I'm Army biased, not to leave the other branches out). They are the tip of the spear, so to speak, and THAT'S where real change occurs. Unfortunately, we have too long been focused on things that make our military great, but do little to help the trigger-pullers. So, in a way, this war that we're in has done much to bring up changes for those guys. New equipment, new tactics, new weapons. There is some benefit.
