Master 2629 brummie land | Subject: RE: Sinister Snowmen so a quick weekly update: congrats to all of us who got in the pool and an early farewell to sel166 who on doctors orders is sidelined. abud is first on my list and congrats to a fellow team skinny'er who was a bit worried about her first challenge but despite having a mac computer is doing really well bbmoozer seems to have used the challenge as an excuse to "Start and end class going down new water slide. What a hoot - all these ladies flying down the thing screamin' and hootin' like little kids." clarkar12 has got his first bit of purple in his graph for weeks and may have some exciting news for us next week... cmrey528 got off to an auspicious start with being diagnosed as having "costochondritis(?)" which sounds like disease of shopping in crappy supermarket warehouses. is now back in the pool and attempted fisting for the first time
rstocks - aka mr fish logged a 6400 yard workout (in two parts), and has seemingly passed on his superior gills to fish junior who won medals in all his races at a gala this weekend runnerg1rl7 has caused me most problems - i keep getting her 1 and 7 confused with those funny things called letters of the alphabet fortunately for pool managers/lifeguards in northeast pa she "Figured there was no need to add chlorine to my one-sneeze-from-explosion clogged head." new one on pool closed because a baby has pooped! scotinseattle has been logging crazy distances and then being the shameless media has posted links to youtube. rumour has it the wee lassie gets turned on by chlorine....so that is what you and your hubby get up to in bed as for senior elf sappho96: well my brain hurts from all the math! my parents pool is 23 metres but when the school kids have their lessons it is down to 10 metre widths to finish off my workouts, having started off at 12 metres because of the aquarobics. my first swim was a measly 908 metres because i met a guy who critiqued my stroke and i lost count of how far i'd gone. still that has been a huge breakthrough for me and |

Master 2629 brummie land | Subject: RE: Sinister Snowmen have added this weeks totals, and cheated somewhat by adding todays swims also congrats to everybody so far but just to let you know (not mentioning ANY names) that BTW, coupled with the above 120% is the opposite. A teammate must complete 70% of their goal to get any credit, so if they are at 69% they are logged as 0 for the team goal, so stay on top of your teammate that may be falling behind a bit. BUT also: EXCEPTION: In the final week of the challenge team members may exceed 100% (up to 120% max,) and use their additional data to assist team members who are struggling to reach their goal so of course we will all be willing to help but i know some of us may struggle with pool openings in the final week. my pool opens ew years eve but that is because i am special
i know we can win this snowmen so let's have a fabulous second week and all be over 50% by next monday! this weeks captain's question is: what has pleased you most about the swimming so far?
i have two: one my change in stroke, it hurts my shoulder much less and two: i knocked out a 1:45 short course 100m today which isn't bad (not compared to bob and lynne but...) Edited by sappho96 2007-12-10 12:17 PM |

Extreme Veteran 462 Brisbane QLD | Subject: RE: Sinister Snowmen What's pleased me so far is that my swim time is improving for races. Even though I was rescued during my last tri, my total time in the water was roughly the same as the time I spent in the water this time last year during my first 300m swim distance tri! LOL So I must be getting faster! Spent about 30 seconds to a minute on a life guard's board so I'm seeing a dramatic improovement Pull Buoy. Yup. They work wonders with stroke correction that's for sure! I love those little things!! |

Elite 3067 Cheesehead, WI | Subject: RE: Sinister Snowmen So far what has pleased me in this competition but also since starting to swim for triathlon (summer of 06) - is that it has slowly become easier, faster, hypnotic (so easy to lose count of laps!). I get into a zone when thinking about my form - if only I can do that during a race! Thinking about my form makes it all so easy and takes my mind off sinking I struggle to keep my bum elevated. I really do enjoy swimming now! |

Extreme Veteran 484 El Cajon, Ca | Subject: RE: Sinister Snowmen What pleases me the most about swimming is how refreshed I feel when I am done. Whan I run or bike I feel like I want to fall over. Swimming is calming and refreshing. Now if I could only improve my stroke and become a little faster. |
