One thing I've found --> If I go home after work, I generally won't leave again. (Especially now that the days are short and the weather is chilly.)

So if I want to get a swim in, I go directly from work to the pool.

Otherwise, I end up sitting on the couch watching TV until long after the gym has closed....

I like to do the small amount of training that I can, in the am. I have a moms group that meets almost every Monday. They walk, I try to run and push the kiddos in the jogger. When the kiddos are in preschool Tues and Thurs I go to the gym. Where I spin and swim. Or just swim and head to a local lake to ride. Then I pick them up at noon. I absolutely dread the naptime treadmill run. Especially since I washed my ipod. I try to run outside when my hubby is home, but he has such a crazy schedule, those days are few and far between.

Do not get me wrong. I am really not complaining. His crazy schedule puts me in the position to be a stay at home mom. And atleast I get to spend the time with the kiddos. I am sure they would rather be playing than riding in the jogger, but I hope to be a good role model for them.

I am like Dee, once I am in for the night, I am in. Especially in the chilly winter.

yea...something about electronics and water don't mix well...hope I never do that...being a poor college student...I wouldn't be getting one for awhile after that.  What kind of music does everyone listen to?  Any favorite inspirational song?

Mine favorite song is Satisfied by Richard Marx...nothing like me yelling at the top of my lungs that I won't stop till I am satisfied

Not my favorite overall but metellica "don't tread on me" works good for some workout intensity. Mike

Question, how do import the list of our group members into my workout log.

Copy and paste this into your log. (Where you list your goals.)
If that doesn't work, hit the QUOTE button, and copy the code part into your log.
And if THAT doesn't work, let me know and I'll figure out a different way to get it to you.

I love all the back and forth in this group already.  I don't believe that I'm here to impart my wisdom as I am to keep facilitating the interaction in the group.  I've learned some lessons the hard way thru training that may be beneficial, particularly to the newer folks in my group.

Also, I have a request of the group.  I've had one additional person contact me about joining.  "I am a cancer survor as well. Three and a half years now. I started on this mission a couple of years ago. I have lost 38 pounds and have done three full and four 1/2 marathons in the last 12 months. Starting on bike training -- going well and swimming, going poorly. If you have space, I would like to join the group."

Let me know,

Emerson Knowles

etknowles on BT

If you guys are ok with it, I'd like to add Emerson to our group.

Amy have you done the Malibu tri before? Is that the one that Hollywood types come out and support. If yes, is it difficult to get in the race. Looks like alot of fun. Mike

Yepper, that is the one. I sells out pretty early from what I hear. I have not registered for any of the races I have listed. It is just a wish list.

That, is one that would be on my wish list also. Perhaps one year, maybe tie it to a trip to visit the relatives. Maybe go to Price is Right again. That was a marathon just to get in. Well gonna sign off for now, still at work and better get some done. Mike

Well I am done with classes for the semester...big relief.  I am actually going to count the number of papers I wrote because it feels like that is all I ever did.  And I am hungry.   Does anyone get really hungry after a couple of days of good workouts?  Now I just have to stay away from the junk food...hmmmm....not easy.

Hey guys,

Sorry for being so late on responding to having Emerson join....as for my vote - ABSOLUTELY on joining the group! I have actually chatted with Emerson previously and I think he will have a lot to add.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I am going for a short run and off to work. Have a great Monday! Go out or in and have a great work out!

Julie
