LazyMarathoner - 2008-10-05 4:09 PM I may need to do my next miles on the elliptical to keep my injuries from coming back.

Probably smart to mix up the elliptical and water walking/jogging until you're 100%.

I agree, at this point, I just want to get to the start uninjured. And after taking the entire week off and then running a good race today, I appreciate the merits of arriving undertrained vs. overtrained. I've got the IM to look forward to and would like to start that injury free!

I haven't tried the aqua jogging. Do people do that in deep water? Some people actually run the length of my pool. It looks hard.

I think you're supposed to do it in 5-6 feet of water with a special belt on that helps keep you off the bottom of the pool.  From what I've seen it is hard in a lot of ways but if it's going to help you rehab from the injuries to get ready for IM training I'd be doing it!

That's what I thought. They don't let us use the deep end at my pool (lame) but there is a pool nearby that has special hours for aqua jogging for $20 I think. Maybe I'll do that 1 day/week and the elliptical 1 day in replacement for some running miles. Can't hurt.

Wow, you guys are posting 10 pages a day.  How do you have time to train? Tongue out Any more summaries yet?  That's the only way I'll ever be able to keep up!

I got in an hour today...  not tracking or even paying attention to miles and speed this month, so I don't tempt myself to overdo things and make the knee worse.   No real cycling today, probably best to give the legs a rest... I did go for a short cruise, but it wasn't even remotely a training ride.
