as long as you dont add long winded chatty teamies to your list!

Never Chatty teamies are definitely very near the top of my awesome list. Now I just need to figure out a way to make the awesome list longer and the suck pile smaller.

kcarroll - 2009-10-22 5:56 PM BTW, the reason I'm pushing the long run up is because I'm driving to Vermont on Saturday for a "leaf peeping" weekend".  Should be fun.

Heh... I just watched the "leafers" episode of Family Guy the other night. Funny stuff. I do miss the fall colors up north though. No such luck down here. I visited Vermont last fall when a friend talked me into hiking up Mt Mansfield while we were in school in Rhode Island. That was a good time. Have fun up there, and good luck on your long run tomorrow!

not sure I have seen that one...but I crack up at family guy....stewie is the best!

I just re-adjusted my goal to include some aquajogging.  Although I won't win any aquajogging marathons I have not yet drowned which is a positive right?

Just feel dorky running in water - just doesn't feel the same by any means but I am sure I will adapt to it.  Yesterday was already better than Wednesday.

YOU DIDNT BREAK YOUR BUTT MT. BIKING.

YOU HAVENT DROWN AQUAJOGGING.

id say your two for two BILL.

stacieb

ps.  hang w the Aquajogging, it REALLY, REALLY, REALLY (did i mention REALLY) will benefit you, and you'll come out the other side of this injury, better for it.  promise.

Stacie - do you actually do a running motion or more like running in place?  I am so uncoordinated!

as closely approximate your running as if you were on land.

same leg motion, same arm motion.  but stay in one spot/stationary.

unless....are you running up and down lap lanes/shallow water?  or are you in the deep?  i guess that makes a difference.

i can tell you from experience, when you are doing it, it feels exagerrated cuz when you are in the upright like that in the water, you are usually treading...and because of the resistance in the water youre actually having to work harder to get the same range of motion in your arms and legs.  THIS is a good thing!

you'll get used to the feeling, but i know, you feel sorta ridiculous when you are doing it at first.

i think it was Jules that mention....make sure that you keep your 'stance' upright in the water, no leaning forward.

this is GREAT for your CORE and getting you to percept your center of gravity...just in case you've never percepted it before.

you have a belt right or at least one at the pool where you workout that you can borrow?

HAPPY AQUAJOGGING!

I forgot to mention it - as a tease to myself I bought 2 new pair of running shoes the other night.

A pair of Asics with limited support and a pair of cool looking Brooks racing shoes.  I am working on going no support and possibly attempt barefoot running next spring so I figure the more flats I incorporate into my winter training will help me for that.

I wish I could run.  Part of me just wants to run 1-2 because my leg never flares up until 2.5 miles or more but I know that would be dumb!

that WOULD be dumb, mr w. graves.

the running 1-2 because your leg never flares up until 2.5 part.

THAT would be dumb.

cool shoes!  both pairs.

PICTURES?

and way cool on the running barefoot aspiration.

the way we were made to run....al naturale.

kinda like swimming.

stacieb

The Asics were ugly - black and silver but the price was right

Here are the brooks if it works!

hey they look just like my Newtons! are they stealing their design!??? I do like them...and Im sure they dont cost almost $200 with tax...so that makes me like them even better!! or do they cost that much??

I love a guy who can race in pink running shoes! sure there are many way tooo macho...or they thing they are macho who will not wear them! YOU GO BILL! and hows that summary going....I will need it by the end of the weekend....so hope your taking mental notes of all that is going on!!!

Last night I did a one mile test run in the rain, and then 45 minutes on the trainer.  Plan is to try to get another 2-3 miles in on the dreadmill today after work...because it is cold and the rain is blowing sideways

PF alright then Katie?  Dreadmill is about right huh?

PF is holding steady...and a little improved...but definately not worse after giving it a stress test yesterday. Sticking with the inside running because of weather and because it is a little easier on the foot.

That is what I am hoping that the treadmill will help me ease back into running sooner than the chiro thinks.  I know he will be mad at me but I just have to ask these questions

love to AQUAJOG that much, dontcha BILL?

i was all squirrely too when i couldnt run.

three weeks.

pfffft.

felt more like THREE KABILLION YEARS!

i's sorry you cant run right now.

this is good news, yes?

its better on the dreadmill?

i know for me, the key in keeping my foot pain 'at bay' is varying my running surface as much as possible.

one run on the road, then the next on the TM, then the next on the crushed limestone, then the next....

too much road running makes Stacie's foot GRUMPY GRUMPY GRUMPY!

glad your moving forward, and finding what works for you KATIE.

Well, that was not pretty.  Actually started out great but the left knee started grumping at mile 5.
What's with that????? It's the right knee that gives me grief.  So I moved the pat strap over to mister grumpy and kept going.  By mile 7 I was losing form and starting to worry it would blow up.  So, I walked the last mile.

What say you Ghoulies?  Do I log this as 7 miles or 8???
