ironannekidd - 2010-09-22 9:06 AM The online copy of the MCM program guide is available online. I found the elevation chart. When I heard hills for the first few miles I thought up and downs, this is just all up.

Nekkid that is only 120 feet of elevation gain in 3 miles and then 2 miles.  That is like an overpass!

You will do fine!

That's what I thought, but on the graph it doesn't look good. I run on hills where I live and everytime I do I think to myself I've been to DC and I have never seen anything there even close to what I climb around here.

mndymond - 2010-09-22 9:31 AM Ummm...I'm sure I'm not supposed to come back with that line to guy in class...am I? Lol. I don't know what is going on...

If you would like to go out to dinner with him then use the line.

If you don't want to go out to dinner with him then don't use the line.

It's that easy.

Maybe he's trying to ask you out, but he's failing miserably at it.

Hi Kim!

Hi IronNeal. How are you feeling?

Lazy.  I've done absolutely nothing since the race

A well-deserved nothing. You put it all out there.  Are you going to frame your finisher's medal? When you get around to taking it off, I mean.

What?  I'm supposed to take it off at some point?

Maybe I can get it made into a belt buckle so I don't feel as weird wearing it around wherever I go

Great idea!!     Cool

Yesterday I jogged some hills in prep for the bridge race.  Mostly my area where I train is pretty flat.  I sure feel my calves today!

Thanks, I need to do that.  Around here the hills are roads that have fast traffic, blind curves and very little if any shoulder.   Scary!   If I want to train on them, I have to time it so that the traffic is lighter on my side of the road.

Lots of hills here, not a lot of traffic, some have shoulders some don't but with the lack of traffic it really isn't an issue.

We will get Robin, Kim, maybe even Bill to come here and we'll go for a ride.

Ann, I nearly choked the first time I saw the graph. Then I looked at the scale. It won't be too bad. I'm still looking for every hill I can find though between now and then.

Good morning, Kim.

I'm running home from soccer practice tonight, and I will have to conquer 2 hills that put those 2 to shame. They may not be as long, but they are definitely steeper. The graph certainly does make it look scary though.

I stumbled across a website, that I wish I would have added to my favorites, where people were saying how hilly the course was, it really made me nervous. I'm not so nervous anymore.

Other thing I found on the site was almost everyone said that their finish time was 60-90 minutes slower than what they expected because the course is so full it is almost impossible to pass people. My only goal is to finish, I don't care how long it takes me.

The other bit of information that was almost unanimous, the finish area is a giant chaotic mess. If we are going to meet up somewhere after the race we should pick someplace other than the meet up area.
