Probably won't be to long because I'm not feel too stellar at the moment...*cough cough cough* I'm sure I'm too late, but if you're not feeling well then take it easy. No need to push it right now. First priority is to get better, then you will be able to train for IMLP. Ya...you were too late...haha. Already went out. Only 39min though. I felt better out on the bike than I was before the bike sitting around...less time to think about my sore throat! |

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: Ghoulies Christmas Core Challenge Good morning Ghoulies! Sorry to hear that you are sick Robin. I have today off because I have an appt this morning with the cardiologist. I got to sleep in until 6:08 this morning, then the pooches decided it was time to get up. They woke me up then, but I didn't get out of bed until 8:00. It's been a nice lazy morning. |

Going to take my bike out again I think...It's overcast...so I will let my previously sunburnt skin heal a bit I guess. Haha. My Mom booked our volcano ride! On Saturday!! Have fun on Haleakala. Be prepared though. They go really slooooow. It's hard to not just take off and go screaming down to the bottom. Sorry about the sore throat. Feel better. |

Hope you had a good Christmas! Well my son may not feel that way. I just won at Settlers of Catan and he is now pouting upstairs. Mind you, he is 26 and I don't have to play to lose any longer. Hahaha. Oh Catan...I've only played once...and I lost... I'm on a winning streak. I just won two more games of Catan last night. LOL I'm sure the next time I play, I'll start my losing streak. |

MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: Ghoulies Christmas Core Challenge ironannekidd - 2010-12-26 5:08 PM I have a gripe Ghoulies! My in-laws and I have never seen eye to eye. They are very old fashioned and if you don't do things the way they think you should do them then you are wrong. I have friends that won't come to any of my get togethers any more if there is a chance that they will be there. My in-laws gave them a hard time once about having their dogs in the house (4 of their 5 kids have dogs in the house thank you very much), and they gave them a hard time because they live together and aren't married. It's none of their damn business. Anyway... my father in law just found out that there is a fitness center where I work, that I can use for free, and he gave me a hard time because I don't use it. I drive to Gettysburg, to the other one that I can use for free, and use that one. I like the fitness center at the college better and honestly when my work day is done I just want to get away from that place. It is none of his business where I work out, he has no say in it, but he was still spouting off about it when I walked out the door. Grrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!! /rant I'm sorry Ann. Families are so much harder to deal with than friends. Stay strong. |

MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: Ghoulies Christmas Core Challenge kcarroll - 2010-12-27 8:21 AM Morning Ghouligans. Had a VERY long drive back from VT yesterday. I thought I'd left in time to beat the storm, but miscalculated a bit. It took almost 3 hours to cover the last 60 miles. Hairy, scary driving conditions. I had a couple slides but thankfully stayed on the road and didn't hit anything. I was exhausted when I finally got home last night. We have at least 18 inches of snow, so guess what I'm doing later today???? Yep, going to put the snow shoes on and go for a stroll around the golf course. At the moment the wind gusts are 30+mph, so waiting for that to pass. Going to make myself coffee. Street still not plowed so not likely anyone can bring me a cup. Glad you made it safe and sound. |

Debating my action plan for the day...it's a bit overcast and looking like it might rain...maybe I can convince my Mom into a shopping trip or something. Run-bike for today. Might do the run soon depending on if I can de-sore my throat with some cold water! My bum isn't sore from yesterday! Yaaaaaaa! |

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: Ghoulies Christmas Core Challenge Good afternoon my Ghoulies! Well my cardiologist appt was at 10:30 this morning. I actually saw the cardiologist at around 11:15, that really ticks me off. My doc referred me to the cardiologist because she was concerned about the results from my "echo". Apparently when the heart pumps it is supposed to pump at least 50% of the volume in each chamber per beat. My heart pumps about 45%. My doctor said his son's heart does the same thing. Why? Because his son runs all the time, he's in shape, his heart works efficiently. He said he isn't worried about it, from talking to me, he thinks that I'm probably in good shape, or was, and my heart pumps efficiently. What the cardiologist WAS concerned about was the results of the Holter monitor. I had several small scale arrhythmia's during the 24 hours I had the monitor on. I never felt any of them. What it didn't get was the big ones that I feel. He isn't sure why they are happening. He referred me to another cardiologist, that I can't remember the official name for, but he is a heart rhythm specialist. This doc will do a procedure with catheters in my veins trying to pinpoint what causes the arrhythmia's, and how to stop them. I'm not looking forward to this. I am allowed to do light cardio now. He stressed light. He told me I can run, but I should cap my runs at 5 miles, and go easy the whole time. He recommended running with someone, or on a treadmill in case I have a problem. The same goes for biking. If I go outside I should take someone with me, or I can just spin no the trainer in the basement. I don't see the other cardiologist until Jan 20th. I'll let you know how that appointment goes. |

I just got back. 7 miles in the 32 degrees/feels like 25 degrees/10 mph winds. Wow. Brrr. Ann, are you flying out to Carlsbad after your cardio appointment on the 20th? Or are you flyin the next day? Or are you going to have to miss the trip? |

Champion 6656 | Subject: RE: Ghoulies Christmas Core Challenge So I had a bit of a collision with a vehicle today on my ride. Construction and slow moving traffic. Buddy decides to turn right to take a detour to go around the construction and slow moving traffic...no signal...turned in the middle of the intersection. I was about 5m away...so I grabbed my rear brake...put my foot down..and slammed my arm into the back end of the car to stop myself. I smacked that car good to make sure that guy knew he was an idiot for not shoulder checking for pulling that move. Bike and body are good. I don't think the bike actually hit the car and technically I wasn't going that fast because I was kind of wary of that intersection to begin with. The guy then drove off...nice buddy nice. Tourist time on Maui...oh well. The car behind let me straighten out and I continued on my way...and saw some naked people... Just a completely random ride... |

Champion 6656 | Subject: RE: Ghoulies Christmas Core Challenge I guess I will clarify that "I smacked that car good" wasn't me purposely hitting the car...more of a part of me smacking into the car as a part of the collision...I hit it fairly hard. I kind of hope there is a dent in it because he drove away on me...is that vindictive? |
