Welcome, welcome. How is Mrs. Max doing? Still getting her walks in with you on the loop?I have no idea how I got reeled into this thread, so I'll blame it on Cat. But "good morning America how are you? Don't you know me, I'm your native son. I'm the train they call...." Oops sorry, got carried away. With Patti heading off to have bloodwork tests and then the weekly food shopping, I'm shooting for 2 hours on the trainer. Now maybe that's ambitious and my nether regions will probably be complaining after 60 minutes, but it's a goal at least. Let's see how close I can get to it. Oh, and I'm not quite so chatty, I've just been around here too long, coming up on 4 years pretty soon! She's doing great! Taking a day off today due to the heavy rain, but she's closing in on 4 months of steady walking and losing nearly 25 lbs in the process...all while battling MS at the same time. The chick has a lotta guts! Now I have to do some caculations and see how many posts were put up during my 70 minute trainer ride. PPMs as it were! That is good news. Of course we know she has guts. She married you, didn't she? |

Glad to see all the action on the thread. Max, you put my legs to shame! Sal, good luck on the 5K. Somehow I think you can handle it. A marathon before a 5K? That's just nuts! Hello Mila, Beth, Kendra and Tammy!!! Well my chiro kind of rained on my parade. She did not like the feel of my ropy hip flexor at all. She fussed at me for ab work, she fussed at me for running. She told me all I was doing was laying muscle on top of knots that need to be gone before I can add strength. Also that I was most likely fraying the ends of my tendons by trying to stretch without the knots gone and that I could risk another tear. Well, eff!!!!!! WTF am I supposed to do? Bummer. Did she have any estimate on how long she thought that might be? No. She thought it should be healed by now. She is afraid that it has healed around the knots and that the knots are now set in. So when I stress my hip flexor, my body fights back with immflamation. So she believes I have to "break it back down" before I can move forward. Has she given you a plan to work on this? Don't know what to say...bummer. |

Master 3479 Utah | Subject: RE: They Who Shall not be Named II I am not even gonna TRY and catch up with all these posts! When I left last night we were on page 21! I'll never get through them all AND post, too. I ran for 2 miles straight without stopping or slowing down! Yay me! And I had the TM set a little faster than usual, too. I felt soooo good afterwards, and I'm only sore in one spot today--just above my lateral malleolus on my L ankle. Weird. Anyone have any ideas for stretches, or prevention? I think it's something to do with the peroneus muscles...(thanks for the help with the anatomy book, Heather!). So this morning I took it east and did a light, slow 20 minute ride on the stationary bike. Felt better afterwards, but it's tightened up again now. How's everyone else doing on their goals? |

Any ideas/requests? avatar wise, try to find something that means something to you. I have changed mine several times now depending upon my mood. Dee has also changed hers, sometimes by choice, sometimes when forced to be a twinkie. My lates avatar is my two grandsons at halloween. The one before was my puppy dog, and before that I had a smiley offering an apple (Oct challenge I was on the poison apples team). Can't wait to see what you choose. |

I can't afford to get it massaged 3x a week. I guess I can always swim and bike. That's what I did to prepare for my HIM with the injury. I just like to do my strength work now, so the heavy-duty lifting is over well-before my race season. I know it's inflamed. I can feel it. The lifting didn't seem to bother it, just the running. Maybe I'll try the elliptical? I dunno. barqhead - 2007-11-15 11:46 AM Back again. Glad to see all the action on the thread. Max, you put my legs to shame! Sal, good luck on the 5K.
