I feel the same way. At least we didn't lose last week (had a bye). I'll have fun tailgating this weekend, but as for the game, a bunch of nerds (Vanderbilt) are gonna beat us down. |

Champion 26509 Sydney | Subject: RE: Nibbs XXV Ok Nibbs I need advice... next weekend there is a women's only tri event here in Sydney that I could potentially enter. No time goal... Id just swim, ride the mountain bike and walk most of the run...
Three distance options: 100m/3K/1K 200m/6K/2K 300m/9k/3k so all are shorter than a sprint tri... I have NO specific training and have not raced for 2 years. What do we think? I think signups close today... |

How about picking the distance based upon the run distance that you can handle (without injuring yourself). |

I think signups close today... the concerns are this: 1) Ive swum about 3 times since last summer 2) I havent been outside on my bike for ages (but I could do that this weekend) 3) Well we know about me and running... I dont have a clue what distance i could handle... i know I can walk any of the distances... and fitness should hold for the race duration |

Cat 1.) You know you can do any distance Come on... you've been working with a trainer, you've built up some strength from the sounds of it, you can do it, you know you can... the trick will be to not get caught up in the moment and push it too hard... just take your time |

Pro 4507 Simpsonville, SC | Subject: RE: Nibbs XXV Cat, Sign up for the middle distance. You got the swim and the bike. Just plan a nice little jog/walk goal. Maybe 2 minutes jogging, 2 minutes walking. If the foot or calf protests go to all walking. My husband walked the entire 5k portion of his first sprint tri. And he wasn't even DFL (but he's a strong cyclist). There is no shame in doing that. And it is so cool to hear them call out your name when you cross the finish. It might be just the thing you need to rekindle your tri passion. You can do a 2x each discilpine the week before. 2 swims, 2 bikes and 2 wralks. Have one of the bike and wralk workouts be a brick. That should give you a complete rest day. Take the complete rest day two days before the race. I know you can do it. I'm so excited about you doing it. Sign up!!! Yeah, I'm a little addicted to racing. I'm scared, excited and giddy about my race on Saturday. I call it my que sera sera race. I haven't done any bricks, I haven't raced since June, don't have much run mileage in me. But I'm so excited to get out there and do it. I'm gonna have a stupid smile the whole race. It's the doing it that is intoxicating. |

I'm sure you're going to rock on Sat... you may not have raced in a few months... but you've still been keeping up with your training... You've got the endurance to go the distance... I don't think you've got much to worry about |
