Cheescake? Um... no, probably not a good idea. For "dessert" maybe, but not dinner.

Pizza? Uh wait... that's the same thing.

Hm. How about pizza - but not THAT type of pizza? LOL

Rant ahead....

Dear cretin in the 7th grade,

You are a 78 lb prepubescent dweeb.  My daughter is a 5'5" tall child weighing 127 lbs.  Last I looked that is a normal bmi.  She is not fat.  You are a jerk.  She comes from a very long line of obese people but she is not obese, she is not even fat.  Don't go putting your weakling body iage issues on a normal sized child...you'll be answering to her tough as nails triathlete mother who will procede to knock you into next week

When I was in high school, a good friend of mine was about 5'7" and 135 lbs. She was an amazing athlete. During the course of a year, she was on Varsity-level teams for swimming, diving, gymnastics, softball, and track and field. She had NO body fat on her. There was a lot of muscle though. She went for a routine checkup, and her doctor told her that she was OBESE. He based this on her BMI. Hello? This girl was solid. She had biceps. She had triceps. She had quads. She did NOT have flab. Stupid doctor told her that she needed to go on a strict diet immediately. And let's not even discuss the emotional/mental aspects of being a teenager who's just been told that she's "fat." It still amazes me to this day. The guy may have made it through med school, but that doesn't mean he had any common sense....
Yeah, that's why bmi has been de-bunked.  It doesn't take into account that an athletic person has MUSCLE which is denser than fat anyway. Still, the kid is a size 1.  I was the fat kid, don't remember being  size 1-ever.  I'm a 6 now and while I'd love to be a 4 I'm not sure the hips and legs will ever go there willingly.  My sister was anorectic and bulemic all through high school and college.  I am not letting my kid be pushed into an eating disodr cause some dweeb is a fool.

There are a few kick-azz triathletes here who would like to help your cause in silencing the puny cretin.

Hey-I only have a second, but I wanted to drop a quick note.

I just got up from a 2 hour nap.  It was the first sleep I had since yesterday morning(4:45am).  Dave was a little behind on his packing so I gave him a hand.  Worked right through the night, buzzed to school for my morning lecture(well, half of it anyway) and ditched 4 hours early, helped Dave finish up, and gave him a ride to the airport.

There is absolutely no way that he would have made his flight-let alone get everything done.

A fun note...I have a new bike!  It is magnesium and carbon fiber.  well, I guess that it isn't for me, but I am the proud caretaker of Dave's baby.  I will be mailing it to him later-after I give it an incredible amount of TLC.

I need to run to an interview, but will be back in a hour or two if anyone is around.
