Hi TAN!

Good news... I got my Authorization for Employment Approval notice on Saturday!   The lawyer told us that the Green Card will basically nullify the Employment Approval, but what it means for now is that I can start to contact recruiters and apply for jobs!  WOOT!

SO EXCITED FOR YOU!

As am I!

We stand ready to welcome you back to the ranks of the gainfully employed.  Then you can come in TAN and snipe about work.

She says on a Monday morning...

Yes our downstairs lobby is is so crowded with suits for a conference that I had to bob and weave my way into work.  *sigh*  Oh well, some of them were sure pretty in their suits though so I guess that makes up for the monday morning mish mash.

Good morning TAN.

I wonder what a Pope's retirement plan looks like?

Cloistered in the Vatican residence.

Summer residence in uh-sounds-like-Gandolfini ... Castelgandolfo, maybe? and then a nice monastery, actually.

It was so relaxing I didn't have one. Slept from late Friday aft to the same time on Sunday, a few pee/drink/cookie breaks for me and the dog.

Hehehe!

Working on my graduate research one day in the lab I am getting ready to draw some blood from myself and at the same time show the new grad students how to do it.  So there I am with needle and syringe on the table, constriction band wrapped around my arm with one end in my teeth, when the head of the department walks in.  He takes one look at me, smiles, shakes his head and tells me "I have a parents and donors tour right behind me.  Can you possibly do that a little later?"

Awesome!

was pretty cool, 26 drawings.  it's like seeing inside his thought process, whether it was a building plan or a first draft of a sculpture, it was like peeking inside his private sketchbook.

Anybody know why Salvadore Dali seems so readily available and somewhat inexpensive? Numbered lithos from a 500 piece set are ~$2000. I saw 30 or so panels from interpretations of Dante's inferno at a gallery in Orlando which were cheaper than Peter Max pieces.

I don't get it...

Fairly uneventful... went and saw Life of Pi with a friend, working out, laundry, watched Flight with Tony, and he made awesome chicken tortilla soup, omelets, pancakes, and other fabulous meals.  It was a good food weekend!

Morning Matt!  I really enjoyed the movie - I read the book a number of years ago and never thought it was something they could have made into a movie, they did wonders with CGI and brought the movie to life.  How old are your kids?  I only ask as there are a couple of scenes that could be upsetting to young ones.
