Got any suggestions for snapping out of a sugar and junk food binge?barqhead - 2007-11-24 9:07 PM You mean are houses are supposed to be clean? (She says while sipping on an Andes mont milkshake from Jack in the Box) Ooohh... that sounds yummy! I don't believe I've ever been to a Jack in the Box. As a side note, when I moved to Atlanta (6 years ago) I had never been to a Burger King. The first friend I met with kids my kids' ages wanted to meet at BK for lunch and let the kids play. You should have seen me standing there looking at the "menu" trying to figure out what to order. She thought I was insane. Oh, and trust me, it's not because I eat healthy... I am just a creature of habit . Wine should do the trick . It's good for your heart. |

There was a Baskin Robbins on the way home from work when I was pregnant with my oldest. And he was a summer baby. I gained over 40 pounds with that pregnancy. It was always the same. I hear ya on that!! I'm the same way. However for the most part I like salty stuff... not too tempted by the sweets though they will do in a pinch . That must be a summer pregnancy thing because he was born in August. My middle one was born in August, too, but I don't remember if I had any cravings. Probably because I was so busy with my daughter at the time I didn't really have time to think about eating. I saw a really, really young girl at the pool yesterday in a bikini with her baby belly showing. Oy. She looked like she was just so uncomfortable in her own skin. I talked to her for awhile and told her how great swimming was for her (this allowed me to put off my swim for a little longer ) and she said "oh, I'm so young". I felt bad for her... she was kinda just in a daze, I think. I just told her that she would get through it and that as long as she was a loving mom and had a supportive family (which she said she did) all would be well. It was interesting because she sort of lit up and all I could imagine was how much grief she must be getting from people around her. Heck, not much she can do about it now... and nothing anyone says is gonna change the fact. Holy carp... I can't imagine being so young and pregnant. I had a hard enough time in my late 20's... and early 30's... oh yeah, and then later 30's because I clearly don't learn . |

That was hard enough in my late 20's when we had planned everything so carefully let alone to have a "surprise" at a young age. My hubby took the choice out of my hands after little darling #2 was born. He said we have a boy and a girl. What else is there to have? I'm not sure if I have the patience for three. I always think parents of larger families must be saints! |

The older two are a lot older and they were both incredibly easy babies/toddlers and are still completely mellow, sweet, polite. And then there's the third... people told me when I got pregnant that there was no way it was possible to have another kid as good as the first two and that there would be heck to pay with the third. He is something else!!! Of course it's problematic because he's so darn cute... plus the older two let him get away with things that I don't. On the other hand, I recommend that everyone with a two year old have a 9 year old daughter around to help! She rocks and he adores her. |

I have been enjoying a break from spending a lot of time on the computer over this holiday weekend. (sorry Nibbins). Had a great time with the family, and one more play day, today. Have a great Sunday, everyone, and I will try to check in later - at a minimum, to post my time for the week. |

TinkerBeth 23096 Liverpool, New York | Subject: RE: They Who Shall Not Be Named (Twisnibbins) IV spokes - 2007-11-24 6:33 PM Well, lets see. My run on Thursday SUCKED! SUCKED, I say. 22,000 people is just too many to run with. I want the damn marathon over. I shouldn't have run, now my head is all messed up that I'm going to suck. Thanksgiving was nice, hung out with The Blonde and grazed on salami, peppercheese, stuffed olives, cheddar cheese, artichoke/jalapeno dip, crackers, ate some shrimp, had salmon yesterday. I joined REI, picked up some new Sidis (my old pair of road shoes are shot), gu for the race. I am so ready to do the damn marathon. Oh, I passed my 1,200 mile goal of running for this year Doubled last year's total. I'm definitely a better runner and no matter what happens next Sunday, I can say I accomplished becoming a sub 2:00 half marathoner this year. That's worth something. Awesome accomplishments Scott! |

Your legs will show up ready to go on marathon morning. This was probably a little short for you with all the distance training you've been doing. But this is just my take and I SUCK at running.I'm just trying to figure out WHY my run on Thursday sucked so bad. I was lodgy today, too. I should be able to run like the wind at this point... I wonder if I peaked too soon? EEEP! Awwww, Pam I'm sure you don't suck - you've just been injured - but I do agree with your take on Scott's situation :-) |

I hear you loud and clear - although there are only 5 years between my two youngest - My oldest 2 are 15 months apart and very close friends - the worst part is that my youngest told me a few months ago that I really should have had another baby, so he would have someone to be close to - almost broke my heart. Oh, and you wouldn't have wanted to see me when I was pregnant - I weighed 205 lbs when i went into the hospital with my last one (did I mention that I'm 5' 3 1/2" Of course, I had toxemia, gestiational diabetes, and toxemia respectively with each pregnancy - somehow I don't think I was cut out for the whole thing |

TinkerBeth 23096 Liverpool, New York | Subject: RE: They Who Shall Not Be Named (Twisnibbins) IV Nibbins Notes 11/24/2007: Kendra – had to work at the library, we’ve all been invited to her Holiday Party, but please disregard the date, in her invitation, it’s really the 8th, not the 6th – do you suppose that was meant to throw us off? LOL, bring a Toy for ToT (she’s a little askeered because Kristen and Mila could actually show up at her party – LOLOL) Sal – Went for a run in sub freezing temps. BRRRR. He did not miss Kendra’s hint for painted toes (yes Sal I know I still owe you a pic, my camera is charging….) Heather – went for a run, it was also cold and she hit a few icy patches. She’s working with her hubby to help him set goals – he’s going to be doing a marathon Kirsten – is having a great time with her family and cannot wait to get home for good, it wont be long!!! Hector – had a great day, took another swim in his wetsuit and was comfortable. He got an email that confirmed what he had already discovered, the route for the race is slightly longer than advertised – no worries for Hector though, he is READY!!! Amy – Had her first massage – Loved it! Her ankle is still bothering some – maybe she should pull out the boots with the 3” heels again – LOL. Her hubby is home, so they’re going to be decorating the house for the holidays! Scott – his run on Thursday sucked, too many people, he had a nice Thanksgiving, joined REI, doubled is running mileage from last year and he is ready for the Marathon! Cat – was missing from Twisnibbins for 36 hours – she needed a mental health day. She’s seriously cranky (for real) over the outcome of the election. Mila – procrastinating on house cleaning, instead drinking wine and hanging out on-line, nothing wrong with her choice in my mind ;-) Wow, Mila had never been to BK until 6 years ago when she moved to Atlanta! Pam – had a yummy Andes Mont milk shake from Jack in the Box. She needs help snapping out of her sugar and junk food binge - pretty sure I wouldn’t ask Dee for advice on this one! ;-) Sharon – has had a lovely weekend with friends and family – she has one more play day on Sunday. Enjoy Sharon! Lyssa – stopped by to visit only to find the thread still in a Turkey Coma! Dee – a little birdie told me she’ll be home on Sunday! Hope she has had a wonderful weekend!
Discussion Topics Did Scott peak too soon???? (marathon training people! Shhhhesssh! LOLOL)
ps I've been busy decorating my house, hanging out with my kids, I went out with a friend Friday night and of course stayed out way too late! On tap for Sunday - Laundry of course - LOL |
