Okay... a little nervous....

just noticed that my glands behind my left ear near my jaw are tender...

I WILL NOT GET SICK!!!!! I WILL NOT GET SICK!!!! I WILL NOT GET SICK!!!!

Okay... gotta take my vitamins NOW and find some OJ.

Probably more run down with everything you have going on... vitamins are good! As are fruits and vegetables!

I always find more sleep helps. Not sure if that's possible with the crazy stuff going on for you right now.

mmm...sleep is good... Im SO looking forward to not getting up tomorrow morning...

I dont mind some of the track and field... and the BMX but all the team sports that have been on really havent been doing it for me... there has been a lot of basketball, handball, hockey and water polo shown here recently!

Having said that I never would have got any of it done if i hadnt had the place to myself so thats something!

15k – maybe someday I will run that far – LOL!

In all seriousness, I have run more, biked more, and swam more than I ever believed I could (ok – maybe not so much on the swimming )

BT milestones – (or just milestones since I first registered)

June, 2006 – friends from my spinning class talked me into trying this tri thing

July, 2006– bought my first bike and a pair of running shoes – HA!  Somehow they figured if I can swim and do spinning class I can do a tri – I guess they were right

July 2006 – did my first tri – Cornhusker State games – I was immediately hooked

8/5/2006 – registered so I could download the free training plans

??? – became a silver member to have access to more detailed training plans

January 2007 – parted ways with my training partner, struggled for months to get back on track…………………..

Summer 2007 – did a couple of tri’s, my heart wasn’t really in it and I was injured

September 2007 - dipped my toe in the challenge forum – how appropriate that it was (had maybe 3 posts to my name at that time……..hehe, I know who would believe that, but it’s true!)

October 2007 – ventured a little further into the waters of the challenge forum with the October run challenge – and what a challenge that was

November 2007 – what can I say - the month will go down in BT  challenge history – Little Debbie, Cheesecake, goodnight stories, legs, legs, and more legs, training, posting, banter, Nibbs Notes – oh and who can forget about the glitter and the *stars* - it was a wild and crazy month!

The rest is history

Since November of 2007 so much has happened I can’t even believe it

To sum it up, was in a job that was making me and my family miserable, got a job offer ½ across the country, accepted said job offer in January.  Started commuting between NE and PA in February –

  • Racked up lots of frequent flier miles
  • Suffered more than one delay
  • Made a lot of enchiladas
  • Had a higher training volume than during the same time period in 2007
  • Completed two tri’s (both of which were almost Du’s – but someone was looking out for me)
  • Figured out running doesn’t suck as much as I thought it did (shhhh, I’ve even enjoyed it a few times, but don’t tell anyone – after all, I have a reputation to uphold )
  • Improved my biking time even though I hardly had a chance to ride a real bike
  • Improved my swim splits despite reduced swimming volume
  • Got faster even though I’m older

Summer, 2008 - had the best 2 tri's of my life!

I couldn’t have done it without my dear BT friends – you are always there with encouragement or a KITA – whichever I need

It’s been quite a ride and I thank you for being there for and with me through all the ups and downs!

You guys ROCK!

ps

speaking of legs……………..  2007 on the left - 2008 on the right

D001 - 2008-08-22 10:36 AM Check out my newest sig line.

That quote is brilliant!!!! Can I be on your team Dee?

So Cat, you like the cattle prod??? Guess it does get you moving... and better a cyber prod than real life....

Well in december last year Dee started stalking me... and pre inspiring me... and forcing me to exercise... it was really funny...

So I guess Im hoping for a repeat performance!

Yeah, see. I'd love to do that. But there's little thing called "work" which has been interfering with my BT time.... It was pretty funny though. Maybe I should just mail you a cattle prod this time, and let yu zap yourself. LOL

Lol - not sure how that would work out... would be funny getting a package arrive ant work and opening up a cattle prod... given its an open plan office I wonder what everyone would think...

Just glare at them, flip the switch to ON, and give someone a few "love zaps." After that, I'm sure no one will question anything that you do.

Considering most of the people I sit with/near are management that could be very interesting!

In that case....

While doing the above, also announce that you are giving yourself a large salary raise.

Technically it's a half-marathon race.  I am treating it as a supported run.  I do have to finish in 3 hours to get a medal and finisher's shirt, so I'd like to do that.
