#83 today.  4 Easy Treadmill miles.

Had a hard 8 mile tempo run go south on me yesterday, barely being able to complete 3 miles at pace.  I legged out 7 miles total, most of which were at a recovery pace.  Given this, I wasn't sure how today's run would fare.  It was actually quite easy - legs felt fresh and I could have easily continued on.

Day 450 with 15.2 miles. I could get use to running 10 or more miles every day.

#4, keeping the distances and times short in the hopes of getting my knees more used to the stress. I have never been a solid runner and have never gotten over the pounding.

Run at a pace that seems ridiculously slow.  Stay there until you have no pain.....then stay another week....then move up a distance that seems ridiculously small.

Repeat.

Woke up with a sore throat and mild fever....#160 is a 20 minute 2.2 miles just to keep the streak alive.

Day 452 with 22.3 miles in 12 degree temps and very windy, felt much colder. I ran with a couple of young bucks today, 26 and 29 years old and they tried to run me into the ground. Not really but we did it at an 8:49 pace a bit faster than I had planned. I managed 86 miles this week.

Left Brain - 2013-02-17 1:44 PM #161....8 miles.

From #160 "just to keep the streak alive" to 8 miles for #161, nice bouncing back.

#119

Calf still a bit stiff, but can run on it. Training volume has been going up a bit, 2.5 h(swim+run) on fri, 3 h on sat(bike+run), and 8 mile run today, cold and windy.

Thanks!

My idea, as I get ready to ramp up to IM training, is that I can get a "rest day" by running for 20 minutes or so, and keep the streak alive.  That's the first day I did it, or really felt the need.  I was a bit sick, and my legs had felt really flat for a few days.  After the "rest day" today was really good.  My legs felt fresh again.

I ran with my son and my oldest daughter.  My son took off after 4 miles and ran some intervals....my daughter and I just trudged on.  I really felt like I wanted to put some "faster" miles in.  My daughter said, "daddy, just because you can doesn't mean you should"...and so we just ran it out at 9:25 pace.

The goal for me is to RUN the IM run portion of the race I'm training for. (Tahoe)  I don't care about anything else.

Muskrat here... remember me streakers?  I know, I know... it's been a long time.

Just wanted to check in and say congrats to everyone.  Seriously inspiring to read along, see all the streaks and the gains.

Left Brain... Awesome job bud!

I'm about to start an IM training plan...so prolly won't streak, but will be heavy on the running.  Will be thinking of all you streakers on those days I don't think I can run.

Keep up the great work!
