kaqphin - 2010-08-26 5:59 PM OMG - Ive just been sent a link to this site that lets me shop online in the US without a local Credit Card or shipping address... the fee is really small too...

One of the companies is REI which Ive heard so much about...

Would love some suggestions on where to look... I need new shoes and motivation (although I dont think you can buy that!)
I love my Vibram Five Fingers... They definitely take some getting used to, but I've never had a more satisfying running experience. New shoes = motivation!

hehe - awhile ago I went to a support group lunch thing for people with my tummy issues and one of the guys had those on... Im not sold!
You have to find a pair that fits really well...different models fit differently.  I haven't run into a pair that I am happy with yet.

Well Boyfriend and Best Friend/Ex boyfriend(more or less) that I have know for 15 years met yesterday...neither was particularly comfortable/happy about it.  I didn't know that they were going to run into each other.  Jonathan was helping me move stuff out of my mom's attic and bringing a load of soil over for my mom in his brothers pick up that he borrowed for my move.  Maneesh came over to help my mom with some computer issues.

An Awkward couple of hours.

Not sure.  It started hurting a few weeks ago and hasn't really stopped.  It's been feeling more local lately rather than just general ankle soreness.

I'm trying to schedule an appointment.  I called Friday but I didn't know if I should see a Sports Medicine Doc or skip directly to my orthopedic doc.  Ortho's nurse didn't get back to me on Friday.  If I don't hear on Monday, I'll just call the Sports Medicine Doc.

I like the idea of slightly thicker soles.  I keep stepping on glass and stuff near work and it hurts!

Between moving a cubic yard of soil(a full pickup load) and two days of moving boxes/furniture (including removing from the attic) I don't feel so hot.  My back is really unhappy and I was having sciatic pain too.

It doesn't help that I had dairy and now my digestive system is all screwed up.

I ordered a build your own gf pizza and forgot to tell them no cheese.  I couldn't not eat it when it was delivered...could I?  It has been ages since I had cheese.  It was a big indulgence.

So, my leg is feeling better today.  At least the left one is feeling better and the right one is more sore.  I'm starting to wonder if it's related to PMS and there's not actually a problem.  Any of the Nibbs ladies have this as a problem before?

I often find when I have leg aches and pains, it can be related to potassium, or lack of.  But I can't help you with the PMS issues.

Not with PMS, but with thyroid..... Here's an article about it:

"While not generally well-known or understood, hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism can cause a variety of muscle or joint-related symptoms.

Both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism are known to cause what are called myopathies -- the medical term for diseases that affect skeletal muscle.....

Hypothyroidism can create a variety of muscle and joint-related symptoms. Most commonly, these symptoms are due to swelling of the muscles, or swelling that is pressing on nerves.....

Maybe.  Although it feels SO SO much better today!!  No pain at all!

I seriously think it was PMS or thyroid related.

Hmm...that does make sense.  Almost time for another blood test. And my hair is falling out a lot again, so it could definitely be my thyroid levels.

Good question.  I have no idea.  My grey soles are pretty dirty, but it doesn't really bother me.  I'd imagine it's pretty much the same with these.

Ugh - hope you get to the bottom of it... my pain threshold and my body's reaction to thinks is definatley more pronounced when I have PMS so things like a swollen knee will be worse for a couple of days...

That could be it.  It's definitely feeling better.  I'll see how it goes over the next week - running a half marathon on Sunday so that will be a good indication.

Have been out of it for a bit. Sheesh. Big day today - I'm going to pick up the ring at the jeweler. Has been sized and the diamond has been set, etc etc. Now I just have to do the deed in a few weeks.

Cat - really should give the Vibrams a chance. I don't know if I'll ever wear anything different - I'm that satisfied with them.

Jen - sorry to hear about your leg, but glad it's not bothering you as much.
