Here is an easy question from a newbie swimmer - how do you keep your swim goggles from fogging in the water? Foggles work well They're like towelettes and you wipe your goggles with them pre-swim. |

Master 2538 Albuquerque | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2011 Part 2 - CLOSED I spit in my goggles and rub it around, then a quick rinse and good to go. Kelly, the run/walk was more by "feel" this time. I went 1.75 miles run, .25 walk, 1 mile run, .25 walk, 1.5 run, .25 walk, 1.2 run No real plan, but I think next time I'll try and do something more on purpose. |

We'll see if my road riding has paid off. Lot's of climbing on this course. That is my next attempt, i want to do a MTB race!! Have a great time!! MTB is a blast. And you don't have to put in huge mileage to feel the pain. I also plan to try one of the Winding Trails weekday Xterra Tri's. I think they start soon. Next bike for me will also be a 29'er. |

Did three 3.5ish mile repeats yesterday because I had 1.5 hours to burn in the morning and was just curious. My legs hate me this morning for it. |

Champion 5615 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2011 Part 2 - CLOSED Today's stupid move of the day comes to you, courtesy of Me. Kel and I went to packet pickup at Quassy this afternoon. Looking at the race numbers list, I saw Kel's name but not mine. Then it dawned on me what Kel was talking about when she was mentioning the race program. You guessed it. I never actually registered for Rev3. Kel asked around at the packet pickup and found one of the staff members for me to talk to. The race was sold out but she was able to give me one of the race packets from someone who did not race the olympic today. In the end, I was able to get registered, chipped and load my bike into transition. But definitely can be considered the stupid move of the day. |

Nice! I was watching the feed earlier (not crazy about having the video ads in Spanish, don't know what that's about!). Got bored as I'd usually catch a time when NO ONE was coming through. I do enjoy the pics they post up though. I just got in from a brick workout today, did a little under 11 on the bike, then about 2.1 run. Probably should have went earlier in the day, as it's farkin' HOT now

Pro 4723 CyFair | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2011 Part 2 - CLOSED Oh and hit up 40ish miles on the bike this morning. Came in a little over 2 hours, but had to stop to pee twice. ???? Lord I hate trying to pee on the side of the road with bibs on. Only a dead opossum (sp?) out there today. First go with real road pedals, tri shoes, and an aero bottle in the books. Was practicing getting in and out of my shoes while on the bike and I'm fine on the right side. Tend to feel a little off balance on the left. Scarred the bejesus out of myself at 20 mph. LOL. |

Master 2151 Johns Creek, Georgia | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2011 Part 2 - CLOSED It's way too hot and humid here, I'm sure it's not healthy to be out in this. Rode 70 miles yesterday, followed by a 3 mile run. Ride was long (flat tire, stops, whatever!) but run was good despite the blazing hot sun. I counted 8 dead squirrel, 3 live squirrels, 2 live chipmunks, 2 dead birds, and 3 flattened snakes. Then on my drive home I was talking to my husband and saw a beautiful hawk swoop down into someones yard and take off with what I can only assume was a rat or chipmunk. Kind of cool to see live, and not on TV. This morning I did my long run and even though we started @ 7am, it was miserable again. Saw a couple of squirrels smushed on the side of the road. It was a bad weekend for squirrels around here. Oh, almost forgot. We saw a turtle yesterday crossing the road. I wanted to stop but didn't want the group I was with to have to wait. Just as we passed a car drove through on the side he was on. Not sure if he made it, poor little guy. |

I think that's the side that just seems natural to lean when I stop. I can get my right out, but it does feel weird. Nice riding! |

144 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2011 Part 2 - CLOSED Ok they say bad things happen in3's try this out for size. I was driving to an earlier morning ride that was going to be followed by a1.2 mile OWS. On the way there I get pulled over and get a speeding ticket. Then 48 miles into a 50 mile ride I get a flat and fined out that I didn't bring a spear tube. By the grace of God I make it to the beach because someone pulls over and offers me a ride. So things don't look so bad after all right. Wrong! I dive into the water to do my warm up and as I'm getting out my goggles snap in two. I did have a back pair in my bag which I forgot to defog and swam blind for the whole time and twice had the kayakers stop me because I was so far off course.(Not bad lucky just stupidity) So I got a really long swim in, not sure how far. Anyway I love this sport..... |
