rizer22 - 2013-01-26 7:05 AM Gm people. Off to my 3 hour charity Spin event we are putting on today. Should be three hours of pain. We sold 45 bikes now, and will make roughly $2,000 for the non profit, with little effort. Should be a good day. Enjoy your Saturday.

Sounds like a great event.  I hope everything went smoothly and you enjoyed yourself!

Michele - Kevin and I talked about it at length. With the two houses and the four kids, it doesn't fit in the budget at all (Christmas gift $). If I weren't serious about my training and I didn't put forth so much time and effort, then I'd feel guilty about it. I rode almost 9000 miles in the two years I owned my road bike. He said I deserve it . I am not supposed to make any more big purchases for the next few years though. I said it's a deal!

Just got back from spin event. I was the only person that brought their own bike and trainer. Class was loaded with intervals. My legs are shot after doing that for 2 hrs and 40 minutes. I need a beer or three!!!!!

Beer makes everything better! (5 more days, not that I'm counting)

How did your knee & back hold up?

Thanks, everyone. I'm so excited!

Scott - they didn't have the purple. Trust me, if the would have, then I would have been all over that.

Karen - I won't go outside until march. Stinks but at least I'll get my position dialed in and increase comfort level. At the shop I talked to a girl who is racing Tahoe f 40-44.....her first IM.

What do I do about water bottles on this bike??????

I have a cage on my down tube, an aero bottle up front, and an xlab wing (or some cheap version) on the back that hold 2 bottles. I don't always load everything up, depends on how far I'm riding. For IM I load up! I know some people don't like the aero bottles up front, but it's really the only thing I drink out of. I use the other bottles to refill up front. Rarely do I use anything being offered on the course, maybe 1 water bottle. What did you have on your road bike!

Agree with Karen, 1 bottle on the frame, 1 aero (profile or torpedo) and 2 bottle x-lab wing with gorilla cages (highly recommend, some other models will pop bottles off the back and you won't know til you go to reach for them). You can add the hydration later cuz that package Karen and I mentioned would get up to $200 or more ... I am thinking of a speedfil off the tri bars, but I heard profile design is coming out with their version.

Have fun, enjoy the bike!

Jen, I take it the bike fit went well? That is awesome. x2 on posting some pics.

Scott - good luck tomorrow. Let us know how you did.

Jeff, congratulations on your event. x2 on the beer.

I learned a very important lesson. Not to snowboard (for 4 hours) before a 1:15 ride on the trainer. There are 5 girls having a sleepover. I am shot. My 910xt finally came in the mail. I don't care anymore.

Curious - how many of you have tri dreams? I had one last night about an OWS. It was not pleasant. Perhaps this is my unconscious HIM race registration remorse.

Holy cow what a day I have missed on here! Congrats Jen!

Jeff, Congrats on the spin event and hope it went well

Life is peachy here...kind of, so had my brick today and everything was smooth and then as I was getting ready to go run life got in the way Seriously the little one hurt himself playing by falling into the entertainment center and cutting his ear open, not to bad but he was not happy. By the time we got him settled down it kind of defeated the purpose of a brick :/

He is almost 21 months. He is great but he is at that age that he is running around and playing rough. Yea luckily there were no stitches needed.

w/r/t water bottle cages -- you can transfer them from your road bike or buy them.  There should be little nuts to install the cages on the down tube and the seat tube.

Ah, gorilla cages....I want to swap out my profile cages for gorilla cages. They are spendy little guys!

(My profile cages have actually done quite well for me, I rarely reach back and find I'm missing a bottle. The only place I have ever launched a bottle is riding around my house - ha!)

Karen, knee and back held up great. The question will be when I try to start running more. I can say that my shoulders and arms were not nearly as tired as usual, I have to think the bike for helped.

Fantastic! I'm really jealous. It is going to be a hard road (and another year at least) to convince my wife to let me buy another bike. Please do show us the pics of your new ride! Sorry I've been off the grid for a few days. I had a business trip and a 14-hour day on my feet on Friday that I'm still recovering from. I'm going to go out for a run today and try to get back into the swing of things.

I hate bottles on the down and seat tubes for some reason.  I just have the one on the bars and the two rear mounted.  Thinking about putting the one with my nutrition on the down tube for Texas.

1:44:31 on the race this morning according to the watch.  I think I had my auto  pause on though so the pit stop I made at mile 6 might not be included.
