I peeked back a couple pages, but it looks like you had "grownup" time again last night...so I stopped reading. Things are great at home...I'm so happy to be home. Today, home again with Younger Monkey - training is going OK, except I took her to daycare for 2 hours yesterday while I had a meeting and she had more accidents there than she did for me in 2 days. GRRRR - and they were the ones complaining that we hadn't gotten it done yet. I'm going go grocery shopping after I drop Elder Monkey at school and then I think I'll go to the pool. It might be good to, like, um, swim....(else Hector will come after me). |

I peeked back a couple pages, but it looks like you had "grownup" time again last night...so I stopped reading. The conversation certainly changed flavors after I went to bed. Hey, Dee. There's a great sprint here in SC in April that's perfect for beginners and it is small. It is a 300 yard pool swim, a 12.4 mile bike and a 5K run. It was the first tri I ever did and I love to do it every year. It is in Greenwood. Mila, Do Mooseman and SC HIM. That's what I'm planning (if I can stay healthy). Shower time and then chiro appointment. TTYL |

TinkerBeth 23096 Liverpool, New York | Subject: RE: They Who Shall Not Be Named (Twisnibbins) VIII Morning Nibs! Kristen, glad to hear things are great! younger monkey will get there I remember when my kids were that age, they sometimes regressed when they went back to daycare after being home with me (I always kind of wondered if it was because they were mad at me - lol) Kendra - I dealt with PF from May - November of this year - I 'got the boot' in July I religiously wore the boot for 4 months - I think it really helped, the boot didn't bother me that much. I also taped it for the first few weeks until I could at least walk without being in intolerable pain. 1. stretch, stretch, stretch! I can recommend some stretches if you're not already doing some 2. ice, ice, ice - and not just an ice pack - I know this sounds horrible (and I will say it is not fun) but, fill up a bowl or tupperware container with ice and cold water - submerge the foot for 12 - 15 min. I won't lie - it stings like h3ll the first few minutes, but if you can gut it out, it becomes tolerable. I can tell you that the icing was a big turning point for me. Pam - hope the chiro can help your shoulder out! |

I know all about the stretch, ice (yeah in a bowl), taping, but I think the run challenge last month was the straw that broke the camels back (or rather foot). Let's hope the boot will do the trick. Had surgery on the right foot 10 years ago and I would like to avoid that if possible. I'm glad to hear it was successful for you. Edited by kns57 2007-12-13 9:30 AM |

Of course, if I spent a bit less time on BT, I could probably train more. LOL kaqphin - 2007-12-12 10:38 PM D001 - 2007-12-13 3:35 PM Will you be the engine for my run? If not, well, like I said - bring a spatula. LOL You have 6 months to practice running... you coud do it in that time if you put your mind to it! x2!!! Dee - I have seen how hard you work and the amount of training you put in. You really will have no problem with a sprint - I truly think you could do an Oly easily as well - but, a sprint is a great place to start! I personally am a fan of the sprint distance for first timers, but everyone is different Ding, ding, ding!!!! Quote of the day...oh, not that it applies to you so much, but because it RINGS SO TRUE in my situation... Gotta get back to prepping for my next meeting...I can't wait until retirement... |

My left ankle lower leg hurts like hell now. No reason, its throbbing like its been sprained. I had no pain until after walking around at lunch, and then late this afternoon the pain set it. I don't know what this is but it HURTS. Bad. I've got ice on it to numb it but the pain better let up or I'm back at the doctor tomorrow. Spokes, I think you're an admitted pedal masher. Calm down on the intensity my friend. Aerobic is good, anaerobic is mostly for race situations. Hopefully that's not the reason for the pain. Trainers are a great resource for increasing your average RPMs and working on strengthening your 'weak leg' (single leg drills). Get better. |

Hey! You should know. Can you mess up an ankle clipped in going too hard after not doing much cycling for a couple of months? I suppose you could... but it would surprise me if everything else was OK. Did you have the bike completely checked out after the accident (just wondering if maybe there's a crank issue? Heh. I said crank)? No new pedals, shoes or cleats? Cleats tight and aligned properly? Were you seated the whole time or were you in and out of the saddle?

I actually do enjoy her company when they visit. Hee hee hee...This story reminds me of one my sugar daddy told me after his parents met me for the first time (10+ years ago). I have a tattoo on my upper outer thigh...you can't see it unless I'm wearing shorts or a short skirt - otherwise, I appear outwardly "normal" - natural hair, little makeup, etc. Anyway, I met his parents in the summer, we had a lovely visit, and then we were getting ready to leave and I was sitting in the car wearing shorts. His mom peeked her head in the window to say something & saw the tattoo... Called sugar daddy up later that night and said they really enjoyed meeting me, and they didn't think I was one of "those people" - you know, the people who have tattoos? It's funny what perspectives people have...and a good thing my in-laws have never seen my brother without his shirt on...he's really one of "those people"! My other brother called me last night (the straight-laced one, who isn't one of "those people") - cracked me up because he asked for money towards a Roomba for his X-mas gift...I don't know why it's funny - but my "little brother" buying a robot vacuum makes me fall over laughing. |
