Melissa - Just when I think I've sunk to the depths of immaturity and innuendo and all that, you post some really great pics of the kiddies.  That's awesome!!  THAT'S what life is all about.  They're special and it seems like you're special to them too.

Thanks for that!

Melissa's plan for the day

Finish cleaning the fridge-I'm eating all the leftovers.
Take a hot shower-there is nastyness in my lungs that needs to be steamed out.
Throw on some running clothes and go out with the dog.
Repeat with the second dog.
Dress nicely and go to the convention center.
Spend lots of moolah on rocks with holes in them.

Evening Team

Seems like most of you have busy weekends.

Lyssa's at the beach with the fam, and I think that Mike is at Disneyland for a run and some fun with his gals. Beth is still settling in and creating a new home.

I took care of some business related errands including a trip to the NW Bead Show at the Lynnwood convention center. Then I took a nap.

I'm up now and would love to chat if anyone wants to tell me about their day or their plans for tomorrow-or anything at all.

Too tame for you guys?

You might find this paint ball gun more appealing.

It is a little more colorful...

September Four-Is-More Challenge Team Standings - Week #2

September is now 47% completed. Are you on target to meet your goals?

Here are the current team standings:

FIRST PLACE - Team Post Padding - 34.8%
SECOND PLACE - Whips, Cattle Prods and Tiaras (WCPT) - 34.7%
THIRD PLACE - Team Horny Melons - 30.3%

Congratulations to our new leader, TEAM POST PADDING!

BUT September isn't over yet! We still have more than 2 weeks to go! So remember - if you don't MOVE IT this month, your team is likely to LOSE IT!

Need a reminder of what happens at the end of the month?

The winning team(s) will display a signature line: "My team won the September Four-Is-More Challenge!"

All other (losing) teams will display an avatar of something that SHOULD have made them move more! This could be your shoes (ie: you should have run more), or your bike (ie: you should have biked more), or your bathing suit (ie: you should have swam more), or.... etc.

Avatars and signature lines will be displayed for the month of October. After that, it's your choice whether to leave it, or remove it.

Ok good news and bad news. Bad news is I have been gone all weekend (Disney) and I come home to find out we are in third place. Good news is I put in a ton of miles on my bike and running cause my entire family slept in both days. Good for us not good for my legs. But I did get a picture with my bike to prove to my mentor group that I was training while away on a little mini vacation.

hello my melons, i am back from the wedding weekend, and 1000 mile of travel. Bad news is i did not work out much, the good news is i did run and my calf seems to be all healed up!!  I also did not gain a ton of weight, so that is good for my NY20 challenge. This week willl be better i promise as i get ready for my next Tri this weeekend.

YANTI!!!!  It is great to see ya back.

Welcome home to all the melons, it seems our team is now all home and ready to rock!!!

Now that the weekend is over......

I took Saturday off and went to the Biltmore house with family. We tooled around the gardens and drank wine. It was a lovely day.

Yesterday, chores. ick. I had to catch up from being out of town for a week and get ready to leave again Thursday for 4 days. Oh, and I get to travel for work today and tomorrow.

I tell you, there is no place like home.

I am going to fall behind on swimming. It is going to rain all week and then get cold for OW swims. Dang. Except it probably won't be cold enough for wet suit for my race on Saturday. I really like my wetsuit, too.

Have a fun day all you Melons.

Hi Melons!

I actually managed to get a workout in this weekend!

I'm behind on my goals, but they are very modest this month (I knew it was going to be tough with moving and all) so I should have no problem making it!

I don't like being in third place

Hey Melons - I've been AWOL this weekend.  Hope your weekends went well.

Since we're on the good news, bad news kick...

Good news: I ran the Queens (NY) Half Marathon

Bad news: I ran the Queens (NY) Half Marathon

UGGGGHHHH!   What a horrible day.  It was going to be part of my long run.   I figured the race would push me through the final miles, but instead I had absolutely dead wornout legs from the start.  We got there later than I anticipated, so instead of a leisurely 7 before the race, I only managed a couple slogging miles.  My legs were so weak.  And the humidity...almost 90%.  After the nice weather we've been having, this was a shock.  I had my shirt off (race pics to come?) by mile 3 because my singlet was soaked and stuck to my skin.  I just couldn't figure out what pace to run at.  I should have held back more than I did.  I didn't care so much about my time in the race, but just that it would be a long run at a decent pace. So, I only managed 15 miles (including some walking).  In the evening, I went out for another 3.5 miles just to get SOME frickin' miles in.

But overall - we're halfway through the month.  And i'm at 50% of my goal mileage, 50% of my swimming sessions and 58% of my abs sessions.  So, right on track!!
