I'll post the race update Sunday afternoon once I finish.  Don't forget, the race starts at 6 but my wave won't go until 9... so I'll be finishing around 12:30 barring any catastrophic incidents...

You know, like me deciding I don't wanna...

I had one of the top elite guys here in Houston (Ramiro Alvarado - super fast runner (22nd OA at the Houston Marathon and great cyclist)... If the race is wetsuit legal ~ regardless of the length... wear it.  The cut off is 78 or below, so if the temp hangs out there, it will be legal.  I love my wetsuit and only lose 10 - 15 seconds ripping it off, so if I can wear it I will.  Besides with guys like Eric in the water, I need all the help I can get.  Eric is through the water so damn fast, he doesn't have time to feel how cold 75 degrees is... LOL!

I like to think the only thing keeping me from joining the Navy Seals in 1988 (Marines instead) was the amount of time you spend in the freezing cold water of the Pacific ocean... I am a total wuss, when it comes to the cold and wet.  That, I am afraid, would have been the mental breaker for me...

But really, it is a matter of personal comfort, confidence, and readiness!  Which ever you choose to do... you will do great, you will have a blast and you WILL report back to us nothing less!

Lol.

Trust me, the verbal abuse that I know I would recieve from this group is one of the driving factors in my not backing out.

But I have talked myself into/out of doing this race about 50x a day over the course of the last week.

Let me just say... go ahead and choose that, but I am warning you of the potential for a serious A$s whoopin'... lol!

Even if you doggy paddle the swim, half-a$s bike and walk the run course... just do it... have fun with it!  and drink some beer, eat some pizza and enjoy a great post race Sunday afternoon!  You are in Florida for God's sake, the epicenter for Tri-dom!  You will break my lil' ol' heart if you decide not to do it... and you don't want that tragedy on your conscience do you?

Justin - Man that sounds rough. I am lucky enough that I do most of my stuff after 9 PM. My wife doesnt budge when my alarm goes off to swim. Hopefully you can find that happy medium. All I can say is do something extra for her more often. You remeber that romatic stuff we used to do before we tricked our wifes into marrying us.

Maybe we can make an alarm that is actaully just an electric shock and you have a strap attached to your ankle. That way you wont wake the wifey up.

Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

I might have to fight ya for the pink one.

So today I'm officially excited about the race.  This is going to sound totally dorky, but my parents are coming to watch me finish, and for some reason that helps a lot.

Started off with a good swim this morning. I changed my arm posistion on my pull just a little to more like what I say Eric doing in his vids. I felt less muscle tiredness (is that a word?) in my shoulders and more activation in my lats. Felt way better swimming and felt like I was pulling better/stronger. Stilll lacking in swim fitness but working on it.

Also I have officailly moved out of slow lane #1 and into #2. I was way ahead in that lane. I know thats like saying I was the smartest kid on the short bus. But its a step fome.

Also to top off a great swim had 2 nails in my tires this morning so I was late to work.

Glad the vids helped some, just keep working drills and focusing on stroke and it'll come with practice! That sucks about the nails, crap like that always seems to happen at the worse times.

I think that since Eric is our leader, he should be the one to rock the pac man suit!
