I had some root veggies in the garage that I forgot to use.  They are trying to grow so I went out and stuck them in the garden.  A beet, a turnip, and two diakons.  I let my Kohlrabi overwinter and now they are starting to bloom.  They look like small purple broccoli heads.

I just changed clothes for about the forth time today.

I am running late, so plans keep getting changed and different tasks require different clothes.  I am now donning my 'grubbies'.

Yesterday was a beautiful day and today looks to be the same.

I wore sunscreen yesterday and still managed to get a bit of a sunburn.

Be careful out there!!!
oh yes, the UV rays are brutal here in seattle.

More like I am very sun-sensitive. (one of my meds increases my sensitivity to the sun...and I burned plenty easily before I started it)

brick94513 - 2010-03-18 8:21 PM All righty then...  I was only planning on the swim, but it was so nice out today I decided to go for a short trail run too.

We had snow this morning and it looks like we might have more this afternoon. I was really enjoying the warm spring weather we were having.

brick94513 - 2010-03-19 10:01 AM Also looking to build another bike.  I would like to build up a hardtail for XC and XTERRA racing.  I've been looking at the Specialized Carbon HT and Scott Scale, something that I could build in the 20 pound range.  Right now, while my Titus is light at 26 pounds, it is overkill at 5" of travel for racing!

Jeeeez, pretty soon my garage is going to be wall-to-wall bikes.

x2-If money were no object, I would build a dream house with an extra lane in my garage for just bikes and I would have a bike for every occasion.

tri808 - 2010-03-19 1:00 PM Morning/Afternoon everyone...

Probably just a light workout at lunch...maybe a couple miles jogging, and 15-20 minutes on the exercise bike...just to keep the muscles loose...then a softball game after work.

I'll be in Kona tomorrow, not to race...LOL...but to play golf.  A bunch of coworkers and I had free vouchers to fly interisland, and they were going to expire...so we decided to just fly in Saturday morning, play a round at one of the resort courses, and fly back in.  I should get back home by about 8pm, so plenty of time to rest up for my race on Sunday.

Sweet - that sounds like a blast!  Enjoy.  And Golf in Hawaii should count as taper!

Ok -- I'll stop being absent.   Been busy, sick, lazy and all of that, but I'm still pretty much on track with my challenge goals for the month.

Just waiting for my buddy to get here so we can go get a ride in.   I should finish my bike challenge today.   Swim challenge should finish by Tuesday, but I'm gonna have to work like a dog to get my run finished.  But it'll get there.

Way to stay committed, especially when you've been sick. Keep up the good work.

Ok folks, I'm off to run some errands and then do some overhauling in the yard.  There is a dump run scheduled later today as well.

I wish I could grow a garden. My parents are master gardeners so I wish I could grow a garden that would make them proud.  I can't even grow zucchini.  I once got a cucumber (only ever got one) that was almost 2" long.  I did get several red and green peppers that were also about 1 1/2" to 2".  And I was also growing grape size tomatoes before you could get them in the store. My rhubarb does pretty good though.

Paul - Is he getting any better?  Does it seem like a virus or was this related to over-training?

Happy Early Anniversary - I won't remember tomorrow so I will say it today.  Cool

Thanks for the anniversary wishes.

We found out that the rhabdomyolysis from his workout is a possible side affect of the medication he was on.  It didn't come up on any of the studies but has been an issue that has appeared since the drug was released. None of the doctors knew about it. We did some internet searches and found out about it. The new drug inserts list it and it also talks about it on the drug website. The sickness since then could have been something going around or it may have been from going off his old medication or starting the new medication. He slept most of yesterday and has been doing fine since. He is also holding off on the new meds for a few days until he is back to "normal" and then will start them up again.  He goes in for more blood tests Monday to see if things are back to normal.

I spent my morning workout time fixing the dryer.  It had become plugged with lint (you wouldn't believe how much makes it past the lint trap).  My brother also called and said they will be in town this evening and they want to go to dinner with us so I may not get in an evening workout. I am determined to do something though. I have two things I need to get done for work. Maybe I can squeeze a bike ride in between.
