So I go to a new chiro today hoping to get a quick tune up before my half mary tomorrow.  No insurance cards. They were in my wallet that disappeared last week.  So was my "benefits" card that works like a credit card that we can use to pay medical bills. So in the end, no adjustment, big bill, they want me to cut my miles in half and I get to go back Monday. When I told them my mileage, you would have thought that I told them I am running around the world.  There are a LOT of people who run more miles then I do. Besides, its not the running that is giving me problems, its the sitting at my desk all day that makes me stiff and sore. I guess I'll see what next week brings.
Oh, and I'm not skipping the race in the morning.

My daughter has back problems, and she has to run to keep that under control. I hope your stuff turns up. It would be so inconvenient to lose all that!

I hope I didn't ruin anyone's day or make someone sad. I just wanted to put out a little reminder that we need to reach out to people sometimes and not get caught up in the busy-ness of life and forget the important things. This is the second time I have lost someone that I had been thinking about reaching out to that I hadn't seen for a while. When someone is on your mind, don't wait, reach out now. They're just a phone call away.

So all this before 10:30 and I'm still smiling. Usually things would be wearing on me at this point. Then I got some sad news. A guy that I used to work with wasn't feeling well Monday. He went to the doctor and they checked him into the hospital. Then they transferred him to another hospital. This morning he passed away. I haven't heard any details but it is sad. He has a wonderful wife and is one of the nicest people you would ever meet.
So here is my thought for the day. No matter what is happening in your life, smile and be happy because it could be worse. You never know when someone you care about will be taken. If there is someone that has been on your mind recently, take the time to reach out and say "Hi." Take the time to mend bridges or be a little more patient with those who may be difficult to get along with, especially if it is family. Try to always be kind in what you do and say. Those words you just spoke could be the last ones you share with that person. They may even be the last words that person ever hears. Imagine what the world would be like if everyone acted like this. If nothing else, you will be happier for making the effort.

You've had some day! Good thing we get to start afresh tomorrow.

Good morning team! Hubby comes home late tonight...can't wait! Not sure what is on tap for today, training wise. Old Navy is having a sale so I am heading there with some friends. My neck is still really stiff, wondering if it is my new pillow...I sure hope not I spent too much $ on it! It is one of the memory foam ones.

I spent $80 on one of those memory foam pillows and I hated it.  Gave it to a friend about a year ago and she swears by it and said it made all her neck stiffness go away.  Whatev.

I have been using one for a few years now, but it was loosing it's structure so thought it was time for a new one....I got my last one from my PT that I don't go to anymore and insurance picked up a portion of it. Saw this one and thought it was the same...guess not!

pdbman - 2010-04-14 1:09 PM I'm back!
Gone for a week and just under 19 pages to catch up on.  You guys have been busy. Hope its been a good week and that everyone is doing well.

Hey, Paul's back!  How was the trip?

Overall it was a good trip.  One of the chaperons got a phone call and ended up flying home for an emergency.  Good thing we had an extra chaperon. Weather was nice until someone sent some rain down from SF but it didn't last long. The kids are a great bunch.  No real troubles from any of them. There were three groups that competed, Jazz, orchestra and wind ensemble. They got a bronze and two silver awards.  One student got two of the eleven individual awards that were given out. My wallet disappeared, along with a back up credit card, cash, Disneyland pass and who knows what else. I'm working on getting the stuff replaced now. I'm glad I keep my drivers license and main credit card in my cell phone case or I would have really been in trouble. It was a good trip and I'm glad I went.

That is awesome that the kids did so well but i'm sorry to hear you "lost" your wallet!

billsorg - 2010-04-15 6:43 AM Good morning, A-team!
I managed to tumble out of bed this morning and get in a 40 min trainer ride.  The weather here is absolutely gorgeous (it will be 75 and sunny today), so I'm going for a run outside at lunchtime.  I got my taxes done with less than 24 hours to spare... WOOT!  Have a great day, team!
Bill

My taxes were waiting for me to sign when I got back from my trip. Now all I have to do is write out the check.  Not too happy with last year's tax table adjustments. The frustrating part is that as much as I paid, it will all go to my siblings in EIC. At least my BIL finally has a job.  He's worked less than 3 of the last 12 years. I hope he sticks with this job.

I think my sister married your BILs brother

pdbman - 2010-04-15 8:06 AM Finally caught up, at least on my posting. I need to get my back taken care of so I can get caught up on my training. I did get a great run in last weekend. Surprisingly easy. Maybe that's what the lower elevation does for you. I hope it doesn't mess up my running now that I'm back to higher elevation. That's not as big of a concern as my back is though. Can't run if I can't stand. And I have a half mary on Saturday.

I think you just might be the first person to complete a 1/2 mary while crab crawling, no?! Seriously though, I hope you find some relief!

Good morning all... Just a quick check-in to say hi.  Paul, sorry about your rough day and sad news.  But you couldn't be more right about reaching out to people.

I'm off to my daughter's softball game shortly and then yard work for the remainder of the day.

Happy Saturday everyone.  Just a quick update from me. . . Got my last long run of my marathon program in this morning!  Now I get to just take it easy until my marathon next week!

Tomorrow my tri club is having a group ride, and I think I'll join them, but only do part of the ride.  And only at an easy pace.

Back from a run and swim at the YMCA.  I am trying to conjure up the desire to ride but it is April and only 39 degrees so I doubt it will happen.  Sometimes a nap is just the key ingredient!!!!!

Have a great Saturday and I will check in tomorrow!!

Brrrrr, that is pretty cold for riding. I hope you had a good nap!
