While Bill has appreciated that you have allowed him to take time off for his passion of biking events, and provided him with a paycheck to support his family and pay his entry fees, he is at a point in his life where he needs more. Therefore, he will be leaving your company to go do what he loves, whatever that may be. I realize you may miss him, so please feel free to continue sending him paychecks and keeping him insured, he would always speak kindly of you for that.

To all employers everywhere:

We don't want to work 40 or more hours a week when it is beautiful and sunny outside and you don't appreciate our efforts. Hell we don't want to work 40 hours or more a week when it's raining and ugly outside if you don't appreciate our efforts. We want to get outside! We want to run! We want to bike! We want to swim! We want to be healthy and enjoy our lives!

We would like to propose 20 hour workweeks. If we could work 4, 5 hour days we would still get our work done. You would be happy, we would be happy, the world would be happy. We would still expect to make the same salary of course.

So you employers of the world talk about this. Talk about how great it would to have happy productive workers. Talk about the money you would save in health care and lost time. Talk about the money you would save because you don't have to run the heat or air conditioning as many hours during the day, or have the lights on. Talk about how you could boast your company as a GREEN company now.

We may even be able to compromise a little and put in a few more hours, if you let us do it from home. You may be surprised at the great ideas that come to someone while they are out on a long run or bike ride.

I could easily get all of my work done in 20 hours a week. I have things to do now, but still not 8 hours worth a day. It kills me when I have to sit in a place I don't want to be when I could be out doing the things I want to do.

And that would be different than normal how?

Stopped raining yesterday morning.  Gonna be quite nice today.  All the more reason for me to leave!

  It is still cold, rainy, cloudy but I have gotten in some workouts so I do feel better.  I don't know if I will get in a workout today, but tomorrow and Friday should be very doable.
