ceilidh - 2010-09-23 2:08 PM Let's talk about clothes and races.
specifically,

I want to buy a new outfit for my St Pete HM.

I am looking at Skirtsport skirt.

oops, I hit enter too soon. Have you ever used a running skirt?

I don't know anything about them. Any color in particular?

Nope, never used a skirt.

When is your race?

Its in November in ST Pete Fla. I was thinking somethng to match the Ghoulie shirt. They don't have purple so green is close.

I'm going to go look quick. I thought about wearing my Ghoulie shirt for the MCM, too.

I race better with my Ghoulie shirt on. It makes me have a silly smile.

I found a purple Nike skirt I think would have looked good, but it was sold out.

Your Ghoulie shirt IS a happy shirt!

ironannekidd - 2010-09-23 2:20 PM It was half this price at the Nike store where it was out of stock.

We have a friend who owns an store similar to REI, I bet I could get them to order me one.

I think a skirt would be comfortable in the heat in Fla. I usually wear capris

Since I'm not familiar with the skirts I have to ask... what do you wear under neath? I'd be concerned about chaffing.

Most of them come with some type of shorts that look like tri shorts. (longer in seam). Some have panties. I have tried those, Ummm not to be too detailed here... but my thighs are NOT made for that. Chaffing and riding up do not make for a pretty running face.

That's why I like the skirtrunner ones, they have longer shorts underneath. There are a couple that actually have capris under them but that is NOT a look for curvy women (IMHO).

So they have something like compression shorts underneath? Yes, that would help prevent chaffing.

Yep compression shorts. I kinda like the hiding the booty part of wearing as skirt.

That is just disappointing for an Ironman and a long distance bicycler. You would think they would last longer.

They did the same thing last year and I missed it. The first 100 went really fast. Put a reminder on your calendar.
