Me? I'm tired all the time. I'm frustrated because I'm tired all the time. I don't know where to start to get back on the exercise wagon again. Ann, do you know what was different on the day of the race that caused such severe dehydration? You had done 20 miles in training with no problems, right? In training I did 2 17 milers, 2 18 milers, and a 20 miler. I think I didn't drink enough the days leading up to my race. I also think I spent too much time running around like a crazy woman on Friday and Saturday, and not enough time doing nothing. Plus I was a bit nauseous before the race, I thought maybe it was just nerves, maybe it wasn't. I started vomiting around mile 8, and I'm not sure what caused that exactly, could have been the nausea, could have been the Powerade I don't like, but was drinking anyway. I was running easy, having a good time, high fiving kids and Marines. I just don't know. * I also barely ate on Saturday. I know better. I should have been eating, drinking, and resting. I will do better on May 1, my next attempt at a marathon, that is practically in my back yard. I will run the MCM next year and finish. ** note to self, don't forget to register for the Gettysburg Marathon I am SURE that you will. It sounds like you learned a lot about what your body needs thru this experience, so you will rock it next year! Thanks, Dee. I just need to get my butt out the door and start running again. This getting dark at 5:00 thing isn't helping. |

Ah well, I will just have to figure it out Last weekend I thought I'd go for a run on Tuesday evening when I got home from my daughter's piano lesson. I don't think so. Strong winds and torrential downpours. Once we got home I stayed inside. Now I'm thinking Sunday afternoon I'll try to get a short run in. |

Master 3479 Utah | Subject: RE: Ghoulies Inspired & Wet November Challenge So, it's 42 degrees outside, which is lovely for this time of year. it's pretty out there too, no gunky air stuck in the valley. That however, is a telltale sign of wind. *sigh*. 14 mph sustained winds, with gusts to 21 mph, according to the local weather station. I think it's been more like 21 mph sustained wnds at my house, but that could just be me.... So do I go out and run in it, or do I head to the gym? |
