But Gail, we're always happy to talk about tri training, too! So tell us -- How is your training going? You have, if I recall correctly, three goals in the November Challenge. How are you doing with them? Are you meeting all 3 of them? As for your organizing a challenge, I think that's a GREAT idea.

Actually, I'm pretty sure I posted a couple times about not Challenging this month, so I don't have any official BT goals.  I just like to check in once in a while, and I have been surprised to see so much interesting convo about so many different topics here on team challenges -- if the topics were posted instead as sep. threads I suspect tons more people would want to participate, but I also understand that people like the team/club/small-group nature of what's going on here. Again, don't get me wrong; I'm not complaining or criticising ... just curious about the nature of human behavior, especially because this new ChattyChallenge thing seems to have just started.

I'm not in the right situation to organize challenges, but I love that you guys continue to do so with such enthusiasm, and that you love to do it.  Keep it up!!!

Hear, hear. I should clarify that Gail has a long history of spanking me in particular because ... I know you guys will be SHOCKED at this ... I have a tendency to go over the top, in training, in running, in running off at the mouth, etc.

THAT'S why we love you!

Been a couple of posts without pics....  Hector, I think there was a request for back/shoulders.

Yes this is one crazy thread and we knew it would be from the get go. I for one trully enjoy it and that is why so many join in on the fun because it makes so many of us feel good. We make each other feel good here, we uplift and yes we definately motivate each other. Maybe that's why this thread has become so popular and dynamic. I personnaly thank our captain (beth) and our organizer (Dee) for creating such a great environment. Because of them it has becomes everyone team thread, way to go ladies!

Go team!

well said Hector

and {blush}  you guys are the awesome ones!

Nah, Yanti knows I love it when she does that ... sometimes she just needs to remember to look forward a bit more, and that's what I'm here for.  And besides, I'm pretty cute.  Some people line up for spankings from me.

I heard that in order to join this team you had to post a pix, can I join!?!?! I have one goal for November, to work on the core. 15 Core workouts this month is a must and I hope to get some inspires to beat me down into doing them all! Tongue out

You all are partying like Rockstars (I so sick of that phrase!!!). I tried reviewing all 44 pages but man I have work to do After 14 I jumped to 42, did I miss anything in the middle???

OH MY!!!!

Yes, please come play with us!

What happened in the middle? pics of legs, tats, slippers, and tons of fun!

Welcome!

Oh my... GOOD MORNING! What a way to wake up... and I dont even have time for a Scout break before I leave for work

Holy crap...does this group do nothin but chat? If the challenge was about who had the most posts.....this group would win by a landslide....

ok, I'll leave now...see you all in December in the challenge world.

Hey girls! I think Jim could be persuaded to join our team. He didn't sign up for the challenge, but we could recruit him. Cat, you seem to have exceptional talents in this area. Sharon could help as well....

Well since he WAS on out team last time... and the challenge he did before that was one of mine too...

hmmm...

I must say it is most unfair of you to have posted that pic while we are at work. Do you seriously expect us to get ANYTHING done now???

And 2 out of 4 of us are just here for the party... keep forgetting we have our own teams...

Actually you did. Just not on the public forum. You sent them to me via PM. But that's neither here nor there. So I'll just sum it up this way:

Awhile back, some people were upset about a thread on another forum. I said something to the effect that if someone doesn't care for the conversation on a particular thread, well, it's not like they NEED to read it. There ARE other places on BT, where other topics are discussed.

Twisnibbins is what it is. We, the members of the team and our many visitors, enjoy it.

Personally, I've had a great time here, and I LOVE MY TEAM.

When I organized this team, I thought it would be a good team, but I had no idea just how AWESOME it would end up being. This team is FANTASTIC both for their sense of humor and for their ability to motivate me.

THANK YOU TWISNIBBINS (and visitors!) YOU ALL ROCK!

And now, I'm going to get back to my teammates and the latest topic at hand. My team, and our many positive visitors, are absolutely amazing people, and I enjoy every minute with them.

Dee

Seriously, the Challenge game has sure changed these days! With Lyssa, Cat, Dee, Beth, and Yanti posting more than 50% of the (thousand daily) messages in all threads combined, and nearly-naked photos of people showing up in mostly ONE thread, everyone's flocking there, or asking for the same hot pix to be reposted in other threads. Is anyone actually checking up on teammates or talking about triathlon training (in fact, does anyone want to any more?)? And are y'all actually spending 5 or 6 hours a day online? AAK!

Don't get me wrong, I really love the chatter, obviously, I'm here reading it, but I feel bad that I can't check up on friends' training schedules via one team thread any more! Maybe Challenge needs a Wednesdaily (and a Thursdaily etc) thread so that we all can post hot sexy pix for everyone to see more easily, and to consolidate some of the convo. Or maybe just a formal "who can post most" or "who has the hottest pix" Challenge (no, I am NOT going to organize it ... I think Beth may be best for those. ).

But Gail, we're always happy to talk about tri training, too! So tell us -- How is your training going? You have, if I recall correctly, three goals in the November Challenge. How are you doing with them? Are you meeting all 3 of them? As for your organizing a challenge, I think that's a GREAT idea. From what I've seen, it looks like the challenge organizer sets the guidelines. So you could make the challenge anything that you want.... That said, Cat and Donto are setting up the Swim Challenge next month. (And I am so excited about that one!) So maybe you could organize a challenge for January. Actually, if you want to do this, I could even add it to your November goals. Something like "Come up with a January challenge idea." That would be a good goal. We have over 100 people participating in this month's challenge, so the challenges are REALLY popular. And I'm pretty sure that Cat doesn't want to organize them all. LOL Welcome to the world of challenge organizing! It's a lot of work, but it's been a lot of fun, too. Dee

What Ive found is that some teams really turn into friends and the chatter is a part of that. It helps with the support and achieving your goals to really feel accountable to the people whose team you are on...

Oh and NO Cat doesnt want to organise them ALL because I need to share the love around a bit... and im totally LOVING Donto for helping me right now....

That and the body shot.. oh me, oh my!

But I am happ to keep doing the challenges Ive done this year Run in Oct, TDF in July and I guess Swim in December

My swim time for a 1/2 mile in my only tri to date was almost 38 minutes.

That's horrible by any standard, and embarrassing to the point that I'll be honest and say I really don't want to do another triathlon and get embarrassed like that again. I'm too Type A - if I can't be immediately successful at something, or see hints of progress - I won't do it and I'm not motivated to do it.

I put in 65K yards in the pool in 2006 and my swimming didn't improve one damn bit. I tried drills... I tried using the pool buoy. I didn't get better. In fact, I got worse. I had a lesson, but tossing hundreds of $$$ away when you simply don't have any ability to do something well is stupid. I like basketball, for example, but I've never been a good shooter and I've practiced a ton in the past and I still couldn't hit a bull in the azz with a spade if I was standing behind him and he was knocked out on drugs.

Swimming is pretty much the same way for me. Its a totally hopeless situation. Its pretty depressing, which is why sometimes I really question why a) I'm here on this site and b) why I bother to race at all, other than it forces me to stay in better shape than I would do so if I were only 'working out'.

But staying healthy and in shape is the entire point.  Yes, you could achieve health and fitness without this site, but it sure makes it alot more fun and interesting.  Man, if I had your attitude I wouldn't be able to leave the house.  I suck at running, I suck at cycling, and I certainly suck at swimming.  Getting out there and making the effort is a thousand times better than sitting here in the house and doing nothing.  I hate that it takes me 2 hours to finish a sprint triathlon and many times I'm bringing up the rear, but I can't give up the hope, or I'm back to where I started.  I'm making the effort and I'm doing everything I can do to improve.  I can't do more than that and I can't beat myself up for what I can't accomplish.  All I can do is give it my 110% effort and accept me for what I AM able to accomplish.  It may not be worth a crap in someone else's eyes, but to me, its everything.

You can kick a$$ in bike and run.  So you're a duathlete.  What's wrong with that?

I vote you as the lead organizer for this. The reality is that this team thread is a fluke, a wonderfule fluke, an unexplainable fluke, but non the less a fluke. It just so happened that it was organized with dynamic people and I'm not so sure it can be replicated. However if you can, especially for the next challenges, please do so and I'll be the first in line to join and converse.

Either way, you have been sucked into this team thread and there is no leaving, welcome.

Thank you for the welcome -- I was afraid I accidentally made Dee so mad that I'd be banned for life!

Seriously, though, I was only thinking that maybe a permanent "TWSNBN thread" would be a good idea -- not as a team but as a regular thing where people could join, and that would last longer than just the length of one challenge.  Same exact idea -- people in a group support and motivate one another.

I agree with you on not sitting in the house. But see, it would be EASIER for me - and I don't speak for anyone else - to accept that I suck at swimming if I was terrible at the other two as well

I know that I have unrealistically high expectations for myself. I also think there is a distinct difference in the way men and women are raised in our culture - (although there are exceptions on an individual basis) - men are raised to compete, women are raised to cooperate/accommodate. I'm not putting down yours or anyone else's abilities in making this statement, I just know I have this little voice in the back of my head saying "You suck at swimming. Don't keep embarrassing yourself, but it also means that your running and cycling don't mean anything because you aren't a good swimmer..."

God, I need therapy. Lots of it. LOL.

Pulllease don't take my comments too seriously. I'm being honest, but if I never ever do another race again, the sun is still going to come up and the planet is going to continue to rotate and I'll still be a reasonably happy human.

As long as you keep listening to that voice in the back of your head, you'll always BELIEVE that you suck at swimming.

You're right though.  I'm making this fun thread entirely too serious.  How about some more pics?

Okay, let me try again, since clearly I'm not doing a very good job explaining...

I am JEALOUS that you guys are having so much fun on this team and thought that maybe there was a way you all could find a way to have this much fun with more people ...

My suggestion to you is that you surrender your self to ten lashing, 1000 hell mary's, jump in front of two buses and if you survive your forgiven. LMAO.

All kidding aside, i understand the jealousy part. If this were you're team I would want to be a part of it. I feel if you just post what you did, then why have the log. The thread should be about motivating each other, having fun but mostly filled with uplifing re-inforcement. We should be able to see each others log and provide inspires to each other for constant motivation and feedback and that is exactly what has happened here. That's why I am here.

With that said, we must see motivating picture posts! Sorry the shameless side of me came out again.
