We got a message from the Gov'nr saying the same for folks in the eastern part of the state. The weather report today said that "even though Halloween is days away, forcasters are being haunted by this weekends weather forcast". Seems it is incredibly rare to have a winter cold front , meeting a icy blast from the north and a tropical storm from the east.

Hang, on it is gonna be a bumpy ride!

Next Tuesday is election day... IT'S A CONSPIRACY!!!

Seriously though, I was reading an article this morning and it was comparing the situation here to "The Perfect Storm" situation in the 90's. The difference being this one is more powerful on all fronts and could potentially do a lot more damage. Meteorology isn't an exact science so I'm going to reserve my panicking for a later date.

No need to panic if you got supplies. (including adult beverages). Reading the National Weather Service discussion page is pretty interesting. There are forecasters that are worried, but you can tell they are pretty excited, too.

I think we're pretty prepared. We can heat the house, have light, eat, drink, be merry. My only concern is Caleb's last football game is next Wednesday and I hope it isn't nasty out for them.

I am glad you are feeling better. Pneumonia is tough to get back on your feet from. At least you are having a rotation that doesn't wear you out, though.

If I were there I would stay in my hotel and watch the damn race on TV. I am NOT one to try to prove myself against Ma nature. That lady can be a byach!

I have friends that are planning to go down for the 10K, he was a marine, so they are meeting friends down there. They're leaving sometime Friday, I'm watching their youngest son all weekend, he's Caleb's best friend. I just sent her a text to keep an eye on the weather. He's a pilot, too, he is supposed to fly out of BWI Sunday afternoon.

Kendra, that should be a beautiful place to zip-line. There are some good wineries there, too. Who would have EVER guessed that there would be good wine in Deliverance-land? Viogner is the grape of choice there, it seems.

My new car is GREAT. It is like a mini-space ship. It makes no noise and is averaging 48 mpg. It actually gets more around here in the hills than on the highway. It makes me grin.

I had a hell of an afternoon yesterday.

After work I stopped by Target to get a few things. I was walking out through the parking lot, right in front of the handicapped parking spaces and a little old woman, whom I'd estimate to be about 105, with her mom riding shotgun, hit me. She wasn't going fast, I thought she was going to stop, but she drove right into me. I shook it off and got into my car and left. My car has a manual transmission, the longer I drove, the more pushed the clutch bothered my left knee. By the time I got home I could barely bend my leg, I spent the rest of the day with it propped up and iced. I thought I was working from home today, but my boss called last evening and he asked me to come in to the office today to do something that needs to be done by Tuesday. He told me to stay home Monday and Tuesday then because of Frankenstorm.

While I was driving home... the road I was on was 2 lanes in each direction, outside of town it goes down to 1 lane. I was in the straight through lane. A tractor trailer was beside me, he was in the wrong lane, he pushed me into the oncoming traffic lane so he could continue driving. Fortunately no one was coming, but it was still enough to scare the bajeebers out of me.

Finally... Caleb was upset when he got home from practice last night. The kid that has bullied Caleb for years is at it again. This kid is on the football team. He spends most of the games though standing on the sideline, while Caleb barely gets on the sideline. I think he's jealous. He hammered Caleb hard yesterday, at school, then at practice. We talked about it. I told Caleb the kid is a jackazz , he will always be a jackazz and nothing more. I did tell him that if he has the chance to tackle or hit the kid during practice to do so as hard as he could. I told Caleb I want him to knock the kid on his azz... lay him flat. Caleb just looked at me, then said OK! I also sent the dad an email this morning. The dad is on the school board. I told him I was prepared to go to the middle school administration, and the school board to talk about the bullying issue, because Caleb isn't the only kid this guy bullies, and whatever they are doing in the school, if anything, isn't working. I've had enough. A friend of mine is on the school board, and her son is being bullied by him, too. It's time to do something about it. This kid may play soccer next year, or football. Whatever he is playing, Caleb will do the other. Personally I'd like to kick the @#!& out of the kid myself, but I'm pretty sure that would be frowned upon.

It sounds like you need to do a written, formal complaint about the bullying. The really sounds like he will just escalate the harassment since he has been doing it for a long time with no parental discipline.

Good morning Ghoulies.  Today is not starting out very good. 

Arrived at work to realized I left my water at home.  I don't drink tap water. 

I also left my wallet at home.  Thus no money.

The computers are all haywire.  No internet if I dock my computer, but if I don't dock it I can connect to the public wireless.  But I don't have my power cord so I can't leave it undocked all day. 

And one staff called in sick.  That has been someone everyday this week that has called in sick.  WTF!

And it is only 10am.  What else is going to happen today.

I think you should shut the doors and go home and enjoy the weather before it changes.

Melissa - glad to hear that you are feeling better.  Sometimes boring clinics are good.  Glad you did get to see a patient on your own today.

Ann - WOW, what a day.  I hope that your knee is doing better.  PS - election day is not next Tuesday, but the one following.

Robin - I like the sound of that car.  I am looking around trying to decide what kind I need to get next.  Should I get one of the new jobs, then I want a car with really good gas mileage that is comfortable too.

Amy - I saw you drop in.  Hope all is well out west.

I have spoken with his dad 3 other times about this. After I do it stops for awhile, but it always starts up again. We were just chatting with his dad at one of the football games about winter sports. He said that his son wants to wrestle, but they aren't going to let him because he needs to spend some time away from the locker room atmosphere. I'm glad they recognize it.

He responded to my email, this is what he said...

Needless to say we take this issue very seriously and have already started to deal with !!!!! regarding this behavior.

1. We told !!!!! that he must apologize to Caleb today.

2. He will comply with your request.

We will continue to work with !!!!! on this issue, and if there are any other issues let us know.

We will see what happens. I did tell Caleb I want him staying away from the kid, too. He used to sit at this kids table at lunch, he hasn't done that in weeks. He is going to stay as far away from him as he can. There is only 1 week of football left, then he can relax about that, too.

Yea! Now be careful on the walk home this time

Well, it sounds like the parents are trying, at least a little. Then there is also that possible opportunity of a quality tackle by Caleb!

Let's head someplace warm, that isn't going to be hit by the oncoming storm and drink margarita's.
